Medvedev and Bublik are two of four Russians under the age of 21 who are ranked in the Top 350 of the Emirates ATP Rankings. The others, 20-year-old Karen Khachanov and 18-year-old Andrey Rublev, are also in the main draw. Khachanov fell to Alexander Zverev on Monday, while Rublev meets Mikhail Kukushkin on Wednesday. Medvedev and Bublik have been doubles partners on the ATP Challenger Tour, ITF Futures Circuit and ITF Juniors Circuit. Their lone singles meeting was won by Medvedev in March at a Challenger event in Kazan, Russia. Medvedev has qualified for four ATP World Tour events since then, earning his first two tour-level victories at ’s-Hertogenbosch on grass and at Hamburg on clay. Tuesday’s match marks the ATP World Tour main draw debut for Bublik, who fell in the final round of qualifying at the 2015 St. Petersburg Open. Also on Centre Court are a pair of players who won their first ATP World Tour titles in July. Båstad champion and No. 6 seed Albert Ramos-Viñolas opens play at 12 pm against French qualifier Alexandre Sidorenko, who was born in St. Petersburg. In the following match, Kitzbühel champion Paolo Lorenzi meets Russian-born German Mischa Zverev, who tied Radek Stepanek on Monday by qualifying for his seventh tour-level event of the season. Play concludes with 2007 St. Petersburg Open runner-up Fernando Verdasco meeting Dusan Lajovic for the third time. Their FedEx ATP Head 2 Head rivalry is even at 1-1. Western & Southern Open Partners Embrace Unique 2020 Tournament CINCINNATI (Aug. 6, 2020) – Numerous Western & Southern Open partners will remain involved with the tournament in 2020 during it’s one-year staging at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York. Due to circumstances brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Western & Southern Open will be held Aug. 20-28 at the same venue that will host the US Open beginning Aug. 31. The ATP Masters 1000 and WTA Premier 5 Western & Southern Open will be the first combined tournament hosting players from both circuits at a single venue since the tours suspended play in early March. While the venue will be different this year, a number of facets of the tournament will remain the same, starting with the name. Cincinnati-based Western & Southern Financial Group returns as title sponsor for a 19th year, marking the longest-running active naming rights relationship with a North American tennis tournament. The traditional Western & Southern backwall branding will be just one of the familiar aspects of the on-court presentation this year, particularly on the NTC’s Grandstand which will serve as the primary show court. As with 2019, a Porsche serve speed display and Rolex clock will be featured on the court. Player benches will once again be furnished by Mobisport and will be placed behind Cintas mats near drink coolers provided by BODYARMOR. Emirates will have net signage during the ATP Tour matches. LED screens will rotate sponsor signage on the side walls of the Grandstand while Motorola will be featured on LED boards on the side of the umpire’s chair.

  • Zenith Joins Patrick Mouratoglou As the Official Timekeeper of Uts Season 2
ZENITH JOINS PATRICK MOURATOGLOU AS THE OFFICIAL TIMEKEEPER OF UTS SEASON 2 May 24 marked the start of the second season of UTS (Ultimate Tennis Showdown), a new tennis league created by Zenith Friend of the Brand Patrick Mouratoglou. A supporter and partner since its first edition in 2020, Zenith is proud to take on the role of “Official Timekeeper” for this innovative, intense and spectacular showdown of rising tennis stars. In a bid to bring tennis to a younger and wider audience, UTS breaks away from the conventional format and rules of tennis tournaments with a lighter code of conduct and emphasis on entertainment. Here, players can bring out their personalities on the court like never before. Taking place at the Mouratoglou Academy in the French Rivera, on clay courts, UTS4 – the first event of the second season – saw ATP-ranked players Diego Schwartzman, Grigor Dimitrov, Cristian Garin, Alexander Bublik, Daniil Medvedev, Fabio Fognini, Taylor Fritz and Corentin Moutet battle it out on the court in a fun and dynamic series of matches over two days. On Tuesday May 26th, Corentin Moutet “The Tornado” lifted the fourth UTS lightning bolt trophy, defeating Taylor Fritz “The Hotshot” 3-1 in the final. The lowest-ranked player at UTS4, the Frenchman showed that mastering the format is key at UTS. Undefeated, Moutet breezed past Fritz, Fognini, Garin, and World No. 2 Medvedev to win his first UTS title. “The Tornado” was the most experienced player of the field, competing in the league for the third time. After falling short in the UTS2 semifinal, Moutet had revenge on his mind at UTS4.
