VOLUME 12, NUMBER 15, AUGUST 1st, 2004 Albury’s Ferry Has New Owners Marsh Harbour Will Be Base for 45-Year-Old Company By Jennifer Hudson As of July 10, 2004, Albury’s Ferry Service Limited in its entirety has been sold to Mr. Scott Albury of Freeport, Grand Bahama. Al- though a Freeport resident, Mr. Albury’s Marsh Harbour roots go back six generations, and he looks forward to one day making Marsh Har- bour his permanent home. The ferry fleet consists of ten boats, the two largest of which are each capable of car- rying 109 passengers. The others have vary- ing lesser capacities down to the smallest with a capacity of 35. Mr. Albury intends to continue normal ferry operations with no immediate changes, including no immediate rate increases. His business back- ground is in corporate aviation, and he intends to use this aviation background in helping this well established public transportation company improve and expand on its existing operations. Safety will be one of his prime concerns and new regulations being proposed by the Port Authority will be put into effect as soon as they are mandated. Albury’s Ferry Service has been sold to a Freeport man, Mr. Scott Albury.
