15 CASSIDY LUCHT 23 VANESSA MILLSAPS GAME NOTES GOALIVIA VAN DER JAGT Over her last 140 minutes of game action, Olivia Van der Jagt has scored two goals, the first two of her career. Each of her goals have been gamewinners, giving the Huskies the lead against Cal State Fullerton and against Portland. After recorded four shots in primarily a bench role last year, Van der Jagt already has eight shots in three starts this season. NO GOALS ALLOWED The Huskies recorded their second straight shutout against Portland on Sunday, pushing the shutout streak to 193 minutes. Washington has not allowed a goal in Seattle in over 200 minutes stretching back to last season. Siena Ruelas has been in goal for every minute of this year’s shutout streak, lowering her GAA to 0.67 after her first three career appearances. FIRST GOAL FEVER With her goal against Cal State Fullerton, Summer Yates became the second Husky freshman to score this year and third Husky to pick up their first career goal, along with Ruby Hellstrom and Olivia Van der Jagt. That trio have combined for 20 shots and ten shots on goal, more than half of Washington’s team total in each of those categories. LES IS MORE Lesle Gallimore coached in her 500th game with Washington last week, picking up the win at Portland in that game. This is Gallimore’s 25th season at UW. Over those 500 games, Gallimore has gone 252-202-46 in her career at Washington and 282-227-55 overall. FLUSH WITH FRESHMEN The Huskies will field 11 freshmen this year and 13 newcomers, making up the nation’s fifth-ranked -re cruiting class. That group includes three players ranked in the top ten in their positional groups: Summer Yates, Shae Holmes, and Dani Hansen. Yates (no. 4) and Holmes (no. 12) are both ranked in the nation’s overall top 15, while Hansen (no. 83) and MaKayla Woods (no. 137) are ranked in the nation’s top 150. THE PROMISE OF YOUTH 20 of Washington’s 30 players this year will be underclassmen. With Sam Kokoska’s likely to miss the year with injury, Washington will have just two seniors playing this year: Pascale Dumesnil and Anissa Dadkhah. That is the fewest seniors for Washington since 2005, when the Huskies had only one senior on the roster. FRESH-FACED GOALKEEPERS Washington’s trio of Siena Ruelas, Dani Hansen, and Anna Miller enter this year as the Husky goalkeep- er crew. No member of that group has made a Division I appearance as of yet in their career. This will be the first time since 1994 that Washington’s goalkeepers entered a season with zero combined Division I games played between them. GAME NOTES
