Start of work to rebuild the 120-kV lines between the Vignan, Templeton and Interconnexion- Maclaren substations

Hydro-Québec is set to rebuild the 120-kV transmission lines in the Gatineau area. These lines are located between the Vignan substation on Boulevard Gréber and the Interconnexion-Maclaren in the Masson-Angers sector.

The lines will be dismantled and rebuilt on steel towers over a distance of close to 25 km. The work will be carried out by a specialized contractor.

Dismantling and reconstruction are scheduled to take place from April 2019 to July 2020.

The project is part of the company’s ongoing efforts to maintain and improve service quality.

Selected line route, line to be rebuilt outside existing right-of-way (120 kV) Project impact and safety Hydro-Québec will supervise the jobsite in Construction schedule compliance with the applicable technical, Line dismantling environmental and safety requirements. SECTION 1: Specific measures will help mitigate the project’s Northern line: April – July 2019 impact, ensuring safety and the harmonious Southern line: October 2019 – March 2020 coexistence of the worksite and land users. SECTION 2: April – July 2019 SECTION 3: Public safety remains September 2019 – July 2020 Hydro-Québec’s top priority. Construction of the new line SECTIONS 1 and 2: Hydro-Québec will take the appropriate steps May – September 2019 to ensure public and worker safety while the SECTION 3: work is being done. Accordingly, traffic flow September 2019 – July 2020 and parking on some streets may be temporarily limited, as may access to certain parks. Users in Commissioning of the new line the target sectors will be kept informed through SECTIONS 1 and 2: signage and notices. September 2019 Some work may require brief service interruptions.
