Although Olympiacos can no longer finish in Group C's top two, they will be looking to seal third place on Matchday 6 as Porto, who will finish second in the section, come to Piraeus. • The Greek side are on three points, level with a Marseille side who ended a UEFA Champions League record run of 13 successive defeats with a 2-1 comeback win against them on Matchday 5. However, Olympiacos hold the head-to- head advantage so will progress to the UEFA Europa League round of 32 if they match or better OM's result on Matchday 6, when the French club visit a Manchester City side who have already sealed progress as group winners. • A goal in each half from Fábio Vieira (11) and Sérgio Oliveira (85) gave Porto the points against Olympiacos in Portugal on Matchday 2, Previous meetings • This is the sides' eighth meeting, with all the previous six before this season coming in a two-year period between 1997 and 1999 and home sides triumphing in all but one overall. • Those fixtures have all been in the UEFA Champions League group stage. Olympiacos won the first of them, 1-0 in Piraeus on their group stage debut in September 1997, before Porto prevailed 2-1 in Portugal two months later with current Porto head coach Sérgio Conceição playing in both games. That proved to be each side's only win in that season's competition, however, Olympiacos finishing third in the section behind Real Madrid and Rosenborg on five points, one more than Porto. • In 1998/99 the teams drew 2-2 in Portugal – three of the four goals coming from the 82nd minute onwards, Siniša Gogić scoring an 89th-minute equaliser for Olympiacos – before a 2-1 home win in Greece. Olympiacos went on to win the section on 11 points, with Porto eliminated in third place on seven. • The teams were again drawn together in the 1999/2000 first group stage, Porto winning 2-0 in their home game and Olympiacos prevailing 1-0 in their own stadium. This time it was the Portuguese side who progressed, finishing second behind Real Madrid with Olympiacos third. Form guide Olympiacos • The Greek club have failed to add to the points they claimed at home to Marseille on Matchday 1 thanks to Ahmed Hassan's added-time winner (1-0), falling to subsequent defeats at Porto, Manchester City (0-3) and Marseille and at home to City (0-1). • Olympiacos are in the group stage for the 20th time. In 2019/20 they finished third in their section behind eventual champions Bayern München and Tottenham Hotspur, picking up four points to finish one ahead of Crvena zvezda. • Pedro Martins' side then earned a famous win against Arsenal in the UEFA Europa League round of 32, progressing on away goals after a 2-2 aggregate draw (0-1 h, 2-1 a), but came unstuck against another English club in the last 16, losing to Wolverhampton Wanderers (1-1 h, 0-1 a). • The Piraeus club made it four UEFA Champions League play-off wins from four ties by defeating Cypriot club Omonoia this season (2-0 h, 0-0 a). • Champions of Greece for the 45th time in 2019/20 – their first title since 2017 – Olympiacos also lifted the Greek Cup for the 28th time to complete their 18th domestic double. • Olympiacos have lost only three of their last 17 home European fixtures, winning ten. • Beaten 1-0 by Benfica in the 1973/74 European Cup first round second leg – their first visit from a Portuguese team, which confirmed a 2-0 aggregate defeat – Olympiacos won their next seven home games against Liga visitors but lost the most recent, 3-2 against Sporting CP in the 2017/18 UEFA Champions League group stage. • Having also lost 3-1 in Lisbon that season, the Matchday 2 loss at Porto made it three successive defeats by Portuguese clubs, home and away. Porto • Porto are unbeaten since a 3-1 Matchday 1 defeat at Manchester City, winning the next three at home against Olympiacos and Marseille (3-0) plus a 2-0 win in France before a goalless draw against City in Portugal last time out ensured they would finish in second place. They are therefore on a run of four successive UEFA Champions League clean sheets. • This is Porto's 24th UEFA Champions League group campaign, fewer only than Real Madrid and Barcelona (both 25). • The Portuguese side have now qualified for the last 16 on each of their last four appearances in the group stage.

• Porto's 2019/20 UEFA Champions League campaign lasted a single tie, however, Krasnodar beating them on away goals in the third qualifying round (1-0 a, 2-3 h). They went on to finish first in a UEFA Europa League section including Rangers, Young Boys and Feyenoord, but were beaten by Bayer Leverkusen in the round of 32 (1-2 a, 1-3 h). • Porto have lost four of their last nine matches in the UEFA Champions League proper (W4 D1) but have been beaten only once in 14 games in the competition's group stage (W10 D3), winning four in a row before defeat on Matchday 1 this season. • The 2-0 win at Marseille on Matchday 4 ended the Dragons' run of three straight away defeats in the UEFA Champions League proper; they had been unbeaten in the previous five (W2 D3) before that sequence of losses. • Sérgio Conceição's side won the club's eighth domestic double in 2019/20, claiming Porto's 29th league title and a 17th Portuguese Cup. • Porto's last trip to Greece brought a 2-0 extra-time win at Panathinaikos in the quarter-final second leg of José Mourinho's side's victorious UEFA Cup campaign in 2002/03. • That was Porto's seventh game in Greece, and their first win (D2 L4).
