Gremillion You are cordially invited to the Hermès Americana Manhasset Priscilla Smith Gremillion moved to New York in 1986 from New Orleans to start a career in fashion merchandising in the luxury goods industry and to raise a family. She has been fully immersed in both of these endeavors ever since. Her first job in New York City was as an Assistant Buyer with B. Altman benefiting Arts Education at & Company (Fifth Avenue at 34th Street). She was quickly promoted to Buyer then advanced again Tilles Center for the Performing Arts as the Men’s Divisional Manager at the Manhasset store. In 1990, after 124-years in business, B. Altman & Company closed forever. HONORING Saks Fifth Avenue in Manhattan soon recruited her to become the Men’s Buyer, in charge of product development for men’s sportswear. In 1992, after deciding to start a family, she took a job with Lord & Taylor in Manhasset, near her home, as the Priscilla S. Gremillion Women’s Sportswear Divisional Manager. She then had her first child, Brandon, in Hermès 1992, quickly followed by Paige in 1994. Americana Manhasset Priscilla assumed she would be a stay-at-home-mom, but a friend called 6 weeks after Brandon’s birth with exciting news. The Store Director at Barneys at the Americana Manhasset contacted her and asked if she would like to manage a “tiny” MONDAY, JULY 13, 2020 (300 square foot) Hermès boutique within Barneys. The next day she was out of her sweatpants and into high heels, back to the high-end grind with Barneys. Within PRESENTING SPONSORS one year she was doing all of the buying for Hermès at Manhasset Barneys. Then, in Dori and Peter Tilles 2000, the relationship between Barneys and Hermès began to deteriorate. Hermès responded by canceling its contract for the boutiques in all of the Barneys locations. TOURNAMENT UNDERWRITERS Immediately, Priscilla recognized the opportunity for Hermès in the Americana ALINE Wealth Management Manhasset, and she approached the Hermès family about opening a new free- The Claire Friedlander Family Foundation standing store within the mall to continue to serve the Hermès clients she had Hermès developed over the previous eight years. She enlisted the help of her dear friend, Marc D. Taub Frank Castagna, who was instrumental in the realization of this dream. He had the Taub Family Companies foresight to see the immense potential of Hermès on Long Island, and he secured Priscilla a prime location amongst his incredible collection of luxury stores at SPONSORS Americana. Americana Manhasset The Hermès family granted Priscilla an exclusive license in 2000. Her store is the The Klar Organization ONLY freestanding Hermès concessionaire in the United States. This November, it North Hills Office Services will be 28 years since she got the call to manage that little 300 square foot boutique United Medical Monitoring in Barneys. In 2015, the store went through its third expansion and has continued to anchor the entrance to Americana Manhasset with an impressive 6,200 square foot SCHEDULE OF EVENTS store. Arts Education Program Tilles Center proudly supports tens of thousands of children and adult learners each year through its arts education programs. The focus is on providing arts experiences to underserved communities — from low-income school districts to those on the autism spectrum. THIS SEASON Autism—Friendly Experiences These shows are designed for audiences on the autism spectrum and those with limited movement and/or complex communication needs. 9 shows 1,960 attendees School Partnerships & Weekday Matinees Collaborative in-school workshops, followed by a field trip to Tilles Center to see a show 18 Shows 112 Schools participated Students participated in 1,607 weekly in-school workshops 14,392 Students attended these shows Family Shows & Workshops Weekend shows with preshow activities, giving families an opportunity to play and explore the arts together. 12 shows 15,498 attendees Dance for Parkinson’s Interactive classes provide participants with the opportunity to: • Explore creative expression • Become socially engaged • Exercise their bodies and brains to ensure • high physical and mental function.
