This report provides a summary of the 2018/19 community ward spend, highlighting some of the outcomes in line the Council’s Corporate Plan commitment and wider approach to a refreshed Community Voluntary Strategy.

Summary: In 2018/19 A total of £23,991.29 was allocated, with the remaining balance of £8.71 being carried forward to 2019/2020 spend. CROYDON BOROUGH NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH Fund the ward version of the Borough-wide ‘How to be a £1500.00 good Neighbour’ guide. DISTRCIT COUNCIL Croydon Scouting utilise the Mobile Climbing Wall at various local £500.00 community events as well as engaging with the Borough Schools and other charities and voluntary organisations to promote climbing as an possible new activity and offering Scouting as an available after School activity open to the young people in the Borough of Croydon. In most cases this is often their first and ‘taster’ opportunity and general introduction to the exciting activity of climbing. CROYDON FOOTBALL CLUB Fit new doors to the outside of the club £1,000.00

CROYDON HEARING RESOURCE CENTRE To help people maintain their hearing aids to an optimum level so they are £200.00 able to reduce isolation and be able to join in activities and converse easier with their families. CROYDON INDIAN GROUPS Holi is an Indian spring Festival of Colours, celebrated in March. This is one £500.00 of the most popular festivals celebrated by the Indian community all over the world. Members from all communities will e invited to celebrate this festival in Park Hill Park, on the 24th of March CROYDON NIGHT WATCH Nightwatch are out every night giving food and other practical assistance to £1,000.00 homeless and otherwise vulnerable people. While this is the main activity of Nightwatch, the most expensive thing they do is the resettlement of former homeless people into new accommodation when it has been provided by the council or a housing association or private landlord. CROYDON PRIDE Bringing together the LGBT+ community of Croydon and showing how £300.00 diverse and accepting our town is. EAST COULSDON RESIDENTS ASSOCIATION- Noticeboard- Promotion of community activities £600.00 NOTICE BOARD EAST COULSDON RESIDENTS ASSOCIATION-FOUR Four signs to mark footpath 744 Charles Hancock Way £520.00 SIGNS TO MARK FOOTPATH EVOLVE HOUSING & SUPPORT CR Zero 2020 is part of the European End Street Homelessness Campaign, £1,000.00 which has been developed by World Habitat. It is a pan European movement of cities, working together to permanently house Europe’s most vulnerable people and end chronic street homelessness by 2020. PURLEY & COULSDON CLUB FOR THE ELDERLY Purchase of the dishwasher £864.00 SOUTH EAST CANCER HELP CENTRE The South East Cancer Help Centre provides services to patient and family £1,000.00 members affected by cancer. This will support counselling, bereavement and many other therapies aimed at exploring ways in which individuals can cope with their situation. We also provide a service at CUH. ST AIDAN'S CATHOLIC PRIMARY To have a defibirator on site in the event of a pupil or parent suffering £800.00 cardiac arrest on site. Also, to have basic training for all staff in the use of the defibirator. THE CHARTWELL CANCER TRUST- LILLY PAD The Chartwell Cancer Trust has teamed up with Croydon Health Services £3192.86 APPEAL NHS to raise £750,000 to build a new and modernised Oncology Unit, a crucial part of the planned £3m overhaul to integrate Acute Paediatric Services in Croydon University . THE ROTARY CLUB OF PURLEY For several decades, Purley Rotary Club has organised an annual fund- £405.29 raising Swimathon at Purley Leisure Centre, and this application is to

provide funds to support this year’s event. WHITE HUT STUDIOS We are White Hut Studios. We educate children and young people through £1500.00 music, using rhythm and rhyme to support what we do. We have a static studio based in and are also fortunate to possess a mobile studio as well so that we can go to the young people wherever they are. -LIGHTING TO THE The outside lighting round the Playground and back drive way ( MFL ) these £3,389.00 PLAY GROUND areas are very important access area that are used by cars and foot traffic daily, it is the main access for used for parking when school has evening events WOODCOTE HIGH SCHOOL-OUTSIDE LIGHTING To upgrade outside lighting to pathways around the school building to £2020.14 ensure that students and members of staff are safe, especially during the hours of darkness when moving from building to building in this large campus YULEFEST The project is to pay for the Christmas Lights in Coulsdon high street. £3700.00 Yulefest which oversees this project is a festival aimed at the whole community to celebrate together at this Festive time of year.
