I have no problem following the story and the action is well done. Alex Rider finds himself pulled back into Mi6 duty, this time on a 'holiday' in Skeleton Key Graphic Novel to investigate a rogue KGB agent. He's playing the son of two American CIA agents to gain access to the island on the pretense of a family vacation. What he finds on the quay "Skeleton Key" forces him to race against the clock to stop a madman from detonating a nuclear bomb that will annihilate most of Europe. As with all of Horowitz' stories, other cultures especially American are completely derided and skewed, almost in a stereotypical manner the petty wealthy megalomaniac with a small mind was American, the emotionless, determined, soldier general a Russian, etc. Cultures fare no better in this book but that's all the fun, Skeleton Key Graphic Novel up anyone against the British empire. Making the villains cartoony keeps the read light and fun and within the realm of obvious fiction. Once again, this series does a good job of giving a good flavor for the original novel. This also marks the turn in the series where things start to get a little more serious and deadly on a regular basis, but the graphic novel adaptors were able to convey that without massive gore. Truth is not subject to etiquette or taste, and it is precisely because the truth about my father's brief, terrible life and his forlorn death is unspeakable that the truth demands to be told. SKELETON KEY is grounded in my own personal relationship with my father and other family members, especially his parents my grandfather and grandmotherwho had a lethal impact upon his life, then attempted a similar impact upon mine. My Skeleton Key Graphic Novel is concretely and personally grounded, too, in the culture of the time--in particular, the Kinsey Institute, and Hollywood e. I experienced the filming of the movie. I attended its premiere. Wardell Baxter Pomeroy, Kinsey's colorful right-hand man, was our neighbor. As a child playing with the Pomeroy children I learned "peculiarities" of cultural significance, that shed light on my father's place in History. Embedded in my narrative is the covert culture of pervasive pedophilia and childhood sexual abuse, cocooned by institutional protection and denial, and permitted to persist, and to wreak unacknowledged havoc in the lives of innocents. A published novelist, I bring to my memoir a novelist's powers of observation, and a novelist's vision of the intricate, poisonous web of cause-and- effect that ultimately trapped my father and devoured him.
