CENTRAL INDIANA INFORMATION Christian Women Connection’s office is located in Anderson, IN. The Church of God is also headquartered in Anderson, IN, including Church of God Ministries and other affiliated and endorsed agencies. The city has been the location of key Church of God agencies since 1917. Positioned in the heart of the Midwest, Anderson is located on the I‐69 corridor. It is in central Indiana just northeast of Indianapolis, Indiana’s state capital. The official state nickname is “Crossroads of America,” because four major interstate highways, I‐69, I‐65, I‐70, and I‐74, intersect via I‐465 in central Indiana. With a host of public and private school options, affordable housing, and community attractions, central Indiana is a great location for families. There are several cities and towns surrounding Anderson with much to offer, including Pendleton, Fortville, Fishers (rated #3 on Money’s 2019 Best Place to Live list), Noblesville, and Carmel (rated Best Place to Live in the United States by Niche). Indianapolis was ranked the 38th best city to live in according to U.S. News & World Report. All of these locations are no more than 40 minutes away from the Christian Women Connection office. With a population of nearly 1.8 million people, the metro area of Indianapolis offers diverse cultural and recreational activities. Because the Indianapolis metro area is home to many global companies, racial and ethnic diversity is flourishing. There are many diverse restaurants, grocery stores, and communities. Well known sporting activities include the Indianapolis Colts (NFL), Indiana Pacers (NBA), Indiana Fever (WNBA), Indy Eleven (United Soccer League), Indianapolis Indians (minor league baseball), Indy Fuel (minor league ice hockey), and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (which is home to the Indianapolis 500 and the Brickyard 400). Outdoor recreation options abound. The Indianapolis Cultural Trail, the Canal Walk, and the Monon Rail Trail are perfect options for running and biking. Eagle Creek Park, Holliday Park, and Fort Harrison State Park provide beautiful escapes within Indianapolis. Fishers, Carmel, and Noblesville have all recently prioritized development of local parks and collectively provide almost 50 park spaces for families. Central Indiana also offers access to many museums and historic locations. Monument Circle is the geographic heart of Indianapolis. “The Circle” is an ideal spot to enjoy the sculptural art adorning the Sailor and Soldiers Monument. The Indianapolis Museum of Art at Newfields includes free access to The Virginia B. Fairbanks Art & Nature Park, which is 100 acres of green space and contemporary art. The Indianapolis Children’s Museum and the Indianapolis Zoo (including the White River Gardens) are not to be missed, and the Garfield Conservatory and Sunken Gardens have 10,000 square feet of tropical plants and a European formal garden. .
