Community Involvement: Actively involved in a number of community organization s such as American Diabetes Walk to raise funds to fight for a treatment and cure for Diabetes, Alzheimer's Walk, contribute to Habitat for Humanity, Doctors Without Borders, United Negro College Fund (UNCF). Served as Chairman of the board of the Ronald E. McNair Omega Scholarship Fund a (501)C3, a Small group leader al Good Hope Missionary Baptist church and a Life member (National and District) of Omega Psi Phi lnc. where I have served in various leadership roles. Worked on the committee to establish the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Nu Epsilon Scholarship Endowment which exceeded $ 100,000.00 at AAM U.

Alumni Involvement: Life member of the National Alumni Association, currently serving as National Vice President. Served 2 terms as Regional Vice President Region IV which was the winner of the "Thomas M . Elmore" award, President of Houston Alumni Chapter, Chair of the Conference planning committee, Executive sponsor for the membership committee and a member of the National Alumni Association scholarship committee. Served as chair of the National Alumni Association Conference 20 12, past Treasurer of Houston Alumni Chapter and annual donor to AAMU. Lead the effort to get the Alumni Association approved for CFC.

My goal is to move forward the National Alumni Association through Leadership and Vision . As President I will work intimately with Alumni to provide a medium through which alumni and friends can work to advance the growth and development of Alabama A&M University.

Position President: Timothy C. McCanelley Nominated by: Timothy C. McCanelley

Timothy C. McCanelley was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, the second of eleven children, having five (5) brothers and five (5) sisters. During his formative years, he attended Green Elementary and Vine Jr. High School then, transitioned to Austin-East High School where he excelled academically earning high achievements and graduated number seven (7) in his class and a standout athlete in the football program.

Due to his outstanding academics and superior athleticism, he soon became a college football recruit to many programs receiving offers to further his education. Tim, on his own selected his university of choice, but later Coach Curtis Harris (AAMU 1970) put a recruiting pitch on him like none other and his parents assured, he would be attending Alabama A&M University or going nowhere. Upon realizing the choice was not his, Tim bought into the fact that he would be attending school to play football, earn a degree, and accept his life benefit from both, the plan is still working to this day.1

Arriving at AAMU, he would first make his mark in the classroom, excelling academically as well as at athletically earning academic all-conference honors and becoming the first Academic All-American AAMU Bulldog Football player. A leader both on and off the field, he aspired to lead the student body and was elected Student Government Association, Vice President. He also pledged Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. and held leadership positions in Nu Epsilon Chapter of the organization.

In 1982, Tim graduated with honors from Alabama A&M University, earning a B.S. degree in Computer Science. Prior to graduation he was focused on his career path, he coop-ed at IBM, (Endicott, New York and Charlotte, North Carolina). Following graduation, Tim accepted a position at IBM Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. Later he would relocate to Dallas, Texas and continue his career which included an executive position at Accenture and other Fortune 500 companies with responsibilities managing budgets exceeding $25 million, annually. In Tim's alternate career he develops and leads businesses, advising clients on Real Estate, Investments, Career Direction and Business Ventures. He has been quoted in Black Enterprise Magazine 1998 and The BE "Guide to Building your Careers"2000. Tim is currently a program manager in th healthcare industry with a Fortune 500 company. I le is also a public speaker and motivator that strongly believes throughout life you should lead, help and provide.

Shortly after graduation while in Raleigh, North Carolina Tim, along with others chartered AAMU Raleigh- Durham Alumni Chapter. His first leadership role with the National Alumni Association was the co- chairman of the Alumni Athletic Committee (1990 - 1991). He has attended and participated in Alumni events and activities in California, Texas, Washington DC, Virginia, Birmingham, etc. over the years. He has served in numerous other leadership capacities on the national level. Today, Tim serves as the National President of the AAMU Alumni Association, Inc. while maintaining his affiliation as an active member with the Alumni chapter in Dallas, Texas.

Timothy is first and foremost a child of God; truly grateful to have had the privilege to wear the maroon and white and lives the "Bulldog Creed" for Life, giving of his time, service and financial support.

Employed with Shell in numerous financial management and leadership roles interacting with Sr. management regarding operational activities (P&L, resource requirements, regulatory compliance, etc.) including accountable for development and achievement of business goals/results. I was also appointed as a board member of several Shell subsidiary companies, joint ventures and industry organizations to provide fiduciary oversight, ensure that adequate business strategies and controls were in place to achieve the organization's mission. I have extensive experience working in a global, team and technological environments with persons from various backgrounds.

Region 6 Vice President Region 6 Vice President: Leticia Drakeford Nominated by: AAMU Washington, DC Metro Alumni Chapter

Leticia Drakeford, daughter Luetta J. Drakeford and the late Willie J. Drakeford, is a native of Chicago, IL and reared in Andalusia, AL since the age of 12. A 1997 graduate of Alabama A&M University she received a B.S. in Chemistry and went on to earn an M.S. in Analytical Chemistry from Clark University in 2000. She has been a chemist with the Federal Government for over 14 years and currently works for the U.S. Department of the Treasury in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

As Chapter Treasurer (2009-2013), Leticia was responsible for the implementation and oversight of the use of emerging technologies allowing the chapter to offer multiple ways of processing financial transactions. She is often called upon to provide her talent and services beyond the duties of the treasurer leading to improved efficiency in other chapter operations.

Leticia also served as Chairperson of the Chapter’s signature fundraiser, the Annual Scholarship and Recognition Breakfast. Since assuming the role as Chairperson, the chapter has saw an overall increase in revenues from the breakfast. In 2013, the revenue from the breakfast increased almost 50% and was the highest amount raised since its inception. Due to her leadership, the chapter has been able to increase the dollar amount of scholarship awards given each year.

Leticia currently serves on the Chapter’s College Fairs and Student Recruitment Committee and is an Office of Admissions and Enrollment Certified Alumni Recruiter. In addition, she served in the Students/Parents Luncheon and Alabama Big 3 HBCU Committees. She has lent her creativity in providing gifts and care packages to DC metro area students on The Hill.

She currently serves as Executive Secretary for the National Alumni Association and is a member of the inaugural Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) Committee. From 2012-2014, Leticia was a Member-At-Large where she served as the she Membership Committee Chairperson as well as serving on the Program and Convention Committee. She has been instrumental in helping the Association upgrade to electronic and online dues payments providing additional payment options, especially for alumni in areas without a chapter nearby.

In addition to her service to the AAMU Alumni Association, Leticia is also a member of the Prince George’s County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., where she serves on the Science in Everyday Experiences (SEE) Committee and the Emergency Response Team, and serves on the Higher Education Ministry at Reid Temple AME Church in Glenn Dale, MD.

A Life member of the National Alumni Association, Leticia is a 2011 recipient of the William Hooper Councill Service Award. She was honored with the 2014 Award of Distinction by the Metro DC Alabama Big 3 HBCU Alumni Organization for her work and service to alumni chapter and the organization. She continues to demonstrate “Service is Sovereignty” through her valuable contributions to her community and the Alumni Association on the local and national levels.

Recording Secretary Recording Secretary: Karen Renea Epps Nominated by: AAMU Washington, DC Metro Alumni Chapter

Karen Renea Epps is the daughter of Arthur and Cattie Epps of Phenix City, Alabama. She graduated from Central High School, continuing her postsecondary education at Alabama A&M University (AAMU), where she earned a B.S. degree in Business Administration. She has also attended Memphis State University and earned an MBA from Bowie State University.

A Life Member, Karen is a member of the Board of Directors for the National Alumni Association where she currently serves as the Regional Vice President for Region IV. In this capacity, she is a member of the Membership and Program Committees. She previously served as a Member-At-Large and it was in this position that she re-established the Scholarship Committee in 2010. Since that time she has worked tirelessly with committee members to expand and increase the amounts and numbers of scholarships awarded to students annually. An avid supporter of AAMU, Karen has served on the Constitution and By-laws, Program, Social Media and Sky-box Committees.

Karen initially became active with Alumni Association while in Augusta, GA with the then Augusta/CRSA chapter. She participated in fundraising events, staffed college and career fairs and promoted AAMU. Upon relocating to Washington, DC in 1989, she discovered the local AAMU alumni chapter was inactive, and along with six fellow Alums in the area, chartered the now Washington, DC Metropolitan Alumni Chapter. Since that time, Karen has been active, and continues to serve in several capacities.

As an active member in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Alumni Chapter, Karen is the Vice President of the chapter and supports the president whole heartedly. She is the founder and chair of the chapter’s Scholarship Committee and was instrumental in commencing the first scholarship awards to two deserving students from the metropolitan area attending AAMU. A committee member of the Annual Scholarship Award and Recognition Breakfast, Karen’s goal is to continuously increase the amount and/or number of scholarships awarded annually for deserving local students attending AAMU.

Karen continues to chairs the Student Recruitment and College Fairs Committee, which has proven to be job within itself. She has been instrumental in connecting current students with the local chapter members as well as motivating graduates to become financial Alums. She planned and managed the initial annual student luncheons, and has since expanded the concept, when in 2012 to include first-time freshmen and their parents/guardians as well as current AAMU students. This is now an annual chapter even where the scholarship awards are provided to the recipients. Karen has also chaired the Constitution and By-law Committee responsible for the most recent update and has served on the Website Committee. She write articles for the chapter newsletters and serves on the Alabama Big 3 HBCU Scholarship Gala and Annual Cookout Committees, joint ventures with the local alumni chapters of Alabama State and Tuskegee Universities. She has worked on the program committee, secured keynote speakers, and the emcee. A member of the hospitality committee, she greets, serves as a Judge, and the do whatever is necessary to ensure the event is a success.

Karen is employed with the U.S. Department of Education as a Senior Program Manager with the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Predominately Black Institutions (PBIs) Division. She oversees more than $500 million dollars awarded to Minority Serving Institutions. She previously worked with the Federal TRIO and GEAR Up Programs, White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Federal Student Aid, better known for the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).

In her current position, she provides University officials and faculty with continuous funding opportunities, internship and employment opportunities for students and faculty exchange fellowships. Last summer, she was instrumental in getting the Secretary of Education Bus Tour to Huntsville, AL, which included an AAMU student serving on the panel with Secretary Duncan. Known for her professional, standard of excellence and dedication, she is a quiet storm behind the scene getting things done.

Karen began her federal career with the U.S. Department of Defense in Chambersburg, PA while matriculating as a student at AAMU. As a Cooperative Education student, she accepted a full- time position upon graduation. Eleven months later she was selected for the Defense Logistics Agency’s Supply Management Intern Program. This three year program relocated her initially to Columbus, OH and later to Memphis, TN where she worked as an Analyst. After three short years, she became an Investigator with the U.S. Office of Personnel Management in Augusta, GA. A promotion relocated her to the Washington, DC area to train newly hired and Supervisory Investigators.

Karen is a member of Reid Temple African Methodist Episcopal Church in Glenn Dale, MD, and serves as a Steward, Stewardess and the Director of the Dr. Avis Y. Pointer Higher Education Ministry. She is a member of the Scholarship Committee, which awards over $150,000.00 annually to graduating high school seniors and one recurring postsecondary education student. A member of the newly appointed Women’s Leadership Team, she was elected in 2014, to chair the Women’s Day Committee for two years. In the first year, Karen led the women with the help of God in contributing over $100,000.00.

Karen’s goal is to increase the number of active Alums in the association and to ensure Alabama A&M University remains a fiscally sound institution by raising the visibility of AAMU and educating Alums about the importance of giving back and the impact they can make on AAMU and the federal and state funding. Karen believes every Alum should know that AAMU belongs to them and as such they are responsible for ensuring our beloved Alma Mater continues to thrive for generations to come.

Karen continues to give financially to both AAMU and students directly. She purchased a Brick Payer, contributed to her sorority’s sister scholarship fund as well as supported WJAB’s Campaign. She has contributed to the Annual Fund, the Washington, DC Endowed Scholarship fund, and previous initiatives such as the Councill Challenge and the AAMU Tom Joyner Morning Show Fundraiser. Most recently, she has been instrumental in several persons joining the National Alumni Association as well as recommending persons for appointed positions. Karen appreciates the education and experiences afforded to her as a student and remembers her AAMU journey, which provided her with what she needed for the lifestyle she now enjoys. Karen Renea will always cherish her experiences, which is a testament that Alabama Agriculture and Mechanical University has much to offer students in preparing them academically, culturally, socially, and spiritually to be the best. Karen endeavors to reflect the Normalite spirit and exemplify “Service is Sovereignty”.

Treasurer Treasurer Candidate: Lloyd Marshall Nominated by: AAMU Washington, DC Metro Alumni Chapter

Lloyd Marshall is a 1981 graduate of Alabama A&M University majoring in Accounting. He has since earned two master degrees; Public Administration from Golden Gate University in 1990 and Strategic Studies from the Air War College in 2002. Colonel Marshall is an active member of the Washington, DC Metro Area Chapter of the AAMU Alumni Association. As an alumnus of Alabama A&M University, Colonel Marshall served as Chairman of the 2015 AAMU National Alumni Association Audit Committee. He has worked with the National Alumni Association Treasurer on the Annual Management Audit to correct “findings” identified during the audit.

Some of Colonel Marshall’s contributions to Alabama A&M University and the Washington, DC Metro Area Alumni Chapter include organizing college tours to of Alabama A&M University for students from Virginia, Maryland and Washington, DC, volunteering annually to recruit future Bulldogs at local college fairs, and supporting local chapter events. Colonel Marshall was recently honored as an Outstanding Alumnus at the 2015 Washington, DC Metro Area Alumni Chapter Scholarship and Recognition Breakfast.

As a retired US Army Colonel, Lloyd Marshall is currently a consulting professional based in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. He is a Senior Business Manager at TASC/Engility Corporation with customers in Intelligence and the Department of Defense.

While in the military, Colonel Marshall served as a finance officer working in command and leadership positions around world and the United States. He led soldiers and civilians as a battalion commander in Hanau, Germany and Kosovo. Colonel Marshall finished his service in the military serving in the Pentagon on the Secretary of Defense Staff as a senior budget analyst and Director of Resource Management for the US Army Intelligence Command.

Lloyd Marshall joined Booze, Allen and Hamilton after retiring from the Army and led dynamic teams delivering superior financial management support to Special Operations Command in Tampa, Florida and Army units at Fort Belvoir, Virginia.

Aside from the military and his consulting work, Colonel Marshall is a leader in his community. He is a member of First African Methodist Episcopal Church in Manassas, Virginia where is serves on the Stewards board, Co-Chairman of the Stewardship and Finance Committee and President of the Men’s Ministry (Sons of Allen). He is a life member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, the American Society of Military Comptrollers, the American Legion, and the Association of United States Army.

He has earned numerous awards; the Legion of Merit from the US Army; Team leadership award from TASC, Inc.; Performance and Team Award from Booze, Allen, Hamilton, Inc; Basileus Award from Pi Lambda Lambda Chapter, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., and “Man of the Year” from First AME Church Manassas.

He has been married to Peggy J. Hood for 31 years. She is a substitute teacher and proud stay at home mom. They have one son, Lloyd Jr, who is a freshman on the football team at Howard University.

I am proficient in the use of financial and accounting software in the current Treasurer office I hold with another service organization. As Treasurer in that organization I receive monies, make deposits and prepare written monthly reports in Excel to present to the executive board. These duties are performed in a timely manner and accurately.

I currently perform the duties outlined in my current Financial Secretary position in the Greater Birmingham Area Alumni Chapter and in the National Alumni Association. These duties include collect, receive and receipt funds, as well as, present a written monthly report to the chapter using Word. I keep a record of and maintain a roster of all active members on Excel.

Joyce Harris is a life member of the Alabama A&M University Alumni Association, Inc. and has been an active member of the Metro Atlanta Chapter for more than 25 years. She has 35 years of experience in federal government administration in the accounting and audit fields. She is an enthusiastic supporter of alumni initiatives and works with various committees. Joyce currently works with the Membership Committee at the national level and supports Metro Atlanta Chapter efforts with membership recruitment, fundraising, scholarship student and social activities.

Dr. Bernice Carter Richardson is the immediate past Chairperson (Retired), the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences at Alabama A&M University. She earned the B.S. Degree from AAMU, the M. S. Degree from and the Doctor of Education from University of AJabama. She is a life member of the AAMU Alumni Association and holds membership i n Huntsville/Madison County Chapter where she serves as the Parliamentarian. She has chaired/ served on various committees: Fundraising, Audit, Freshmen Welcome Activity, etc. She is an active participant the AAMU Presidential Engagement Bus Tour, which she helped to organize. Dr. Richardson is responsible for two fully endowed scholarships at AAMU.

Each year, the Huntsville Progressive Alumni Chapter provides scholarships for Alabama A & M Students. James ''Tony" Smith work extremely hard to secure funds to award deserving students a scholarship and/or book stipend.

Since James ''Tony'' Smith graduated in 1991, he has been enrolled in additional undergraduate classes. During those times, he would encourage students to join their local alumni chapter, upon their graduation, get involved in alumni activities and encourage other to participate in their alumni chapters after graduation.

James ''Tony'' Smith has been very instrumental in assisting Alabama A & M University co-op student's get co-op positions, at Huntsville Utilities. Many of those students have received permanent positions, at Huntsville Utilities, after their co-op position has ended.

James ''Tony'' Smith has been very instrumental in helping high school students to get employment through the 'Summer Hire" program at Huntsville Utilities. Many of those students became students at Alabama A & M University, through the persuasion of James "Tony" Smith. Member at Large Candidate: SanYvette Arnise Williams-Foy Nominated by: AAMU Washington, DC Metro Alumni Chapter

SanYvette Arnise Williams-Foy, a native of Tuscaloosa, Alabama is the daughter of Corine Williams . She is a 1979 graduate of Tuscaloosa High School. Graduating with honors from Alabama A&M in 1983, she received the Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. She went on to attend and obtain the Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1988.

Upon completion of a clinical pathology internship, SanYvette relocated to the Washington, D.C. area and began a detail to the Environmental Protection Agency. Serving as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps, SanYvette has been involved in missions and services to protect human and environmental health. Of note, is her deployment to Louisiana during Hurricane Katrina where more than 6,000 owned pets were evacuated, housed, treated, fostered and/or reunited with displaced owners.

SanYvette is an active and committed advocate of HBCU institutions who believes continued alumni support of time, talent, and means is extremely important to the survival of both Alabama A&M and Tuskegee University. At the local level, she has served as chapter president and on various committees. Under her administration, the Alabama Big 3 HBCU Alliance, a joint venture with Alabama A&M, Alabama State and Tuskegee University to raise scholarships for students attending their respective schools and to foster relationships among local alumni, was implemented, the AAMU Washington, DC Metro Endowed Scholarship Fund was created and the chapter received the AAMU National Alumni Chapter of the Year award. All accomplishments are a direct result of the diligent work of members of the local chapter. In addition, she is president of the DELMARVA-DC Tuskegee Veterinary Medical Alumni Association and an executive board member at the national level.

SanYvette is a lifetime member of the AAMU National Alumni Association, Inc. and has served as the Region VI Vice President, Member-at-Large and on the scholarship, awards and hospitality committees. She has received the William Hooper Councill Service award and the Alease Sims Leadership Award from the national alumni association.

SanYvette embraces "Service is Sovereignty" wherever she can. She participates in college fairs, career days, health fairs and other community and service-oriented activities.She attends Zion Church, is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and enjoys playing tennis and golf, reading, and dancing.

SanYvette and her husband, Dr. Harrison Foy, own "N-Motion Home Veterinary Care", a full- service mobile veterinary clinic. Their daughter, Mari-Ashli, attends the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. One of "N-Motions's" signature service programs is the establishment of CPC's (Community Pet Centers) in underserved areas around the beltway to educate clients on animal disease control and prevention through examinations, laboratory screenings and vaccinations. Cynthia Wright- Toles is the eldest of three children born to the late Jess W. and Margaret P. Wright. She is a native of Gadsden, Alabama and attended Central Elementary School which later became L. V. Johnson Elementary School, Carver High School and the Detroit Public Schools.

In furthering her education and career, she holds an Associate Bachelor of Science degree in History from Gadsden State Community College. She obtained 30 hours in History above the master level, a Bachelor of Science degree in History and a minor in Sociology from Alabama A&M University in Huntsville, Alabama, a Master of Arts degree from the University of Alabama Tuscaloosa in Elementary Education, an Administration Certification from Jacksonville State University, an AA Certification in Elementary Education and a Doctorial Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Cynthia's doctorial thesis is entitled "An Investigation of Characteristics Exhibited by Alabama Public Schools Designated as Alert, Caution and Clear: A Comparative Study."

Cynthia is a retired educator and has served in the capacity as a Title I Reading teacher in Calhoun County School District, a Third Grade classroom teacher, Title I School Coordinator and Even Start Coordinator, principal of C.A. Donehoo Elementary School in the Gadsden City Schools and principal of The Communion School in Lagos, Nigeria. She has an extensive background in school administration, curriculum and instruction, assessments, reading literacy, mentoring and Public Speaking

Throughout Cynthia Toles' career, she has enjoyed many accomplishments and recognitions which include Teacher of the Year, Eura Brown Elementary, and Principal of the Year, Educational Resource, and Distinguished Principal Nominee for District V of the Alabama Association of Elementary School Principals, SCLC Leadership Recognition and Gadsden State Community Service. She has served as Teacher Consultant for the Alabama Geography Alliance, Evaluator Standards of the Alabama Professional Education Personnel Evaluation Program, SACS Facilitator, Alabama Technology Trainer and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Membership Intake Trainer. She has been a Cahaba Girl Scout Troop Leaders and served on the board of Big Sisters and Big Brothers. She has received extensive training in Classroom Organization Management, State and National Reading Renaissance, Alabama Reading Initiative/Principal/Retooling, Improving Community Relation, School Incident Reporting, Literacy Partner: A Principal's Guide to an Effective Library Media Program for the 2l51 Century, School-Wide Enrichment Model, Special Education Outreach Project, Conflict Resolution/Peer Mediation , Attention Deficit Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivit y, Student Assessment: The Instruction Connection and Talents Unlimited.

One of the highlights of her career as an administrator was to travel to Naribo Kenya for an International Africa Educators Conference. She received a welcome from the American Embassy in Kenya and numerous information about their education curriculum and educational system and was able to share information about our American educational system. At the beginning of the 2011 school year, Cynthia organized the "Million Fathers March" in the Gadsden City Schools that brought fathers, grandfathers, uncles and other role models to escort their child to school on the first day of school. She was a presenter at the Nigerian International Conference held at the American International School of Lagos, Nigeria for principals.

Cynthia Wright Toles is an involved educational, corporate and civic leader serving with the Alabama Association of Elementary Principals, Southeastern Council of Elementary Principals, Council of Leaders in Alabama Schools, National Association of Elementary Principal where she serves as the Minority Foundation Director for Elementary Principal K-8 across the United States, President of Gadsden Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Gadsden Etowah Chapter of Alabama A&M Alumni, Gethsemane No. 882, Martha J. Glover Heroine of Jericho, Etowah Co. Voters' League, Donehoo P.T.A., the City of Champion Toastmasters International , Secretary of the Etowah Education Retirees Association. She volunteers as a reader in the elementary schools on a weekly basis, presenter of book studies for teachers and was sworn in as the first African- American Woman on the Gadsden City Council for District 1. In July, 2014 she was trained as a National Certified Principal 's Mentor.

With a strong belief in Christian principles, Cynthia is a member of the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church Gadsden, Alabama. She serves as Sunday School Teacher for the Women's Class and the Monday Night Women's Bible teacher. She serves as the Director of the Antioch Family Life Center and the Youth Director.
