In August the world’s largest container ship, MSC Gulsun, arrived in Bremerhaven to complete her maiden laiden voyage from China. At 400 metres long and 60 metres wide, the Gulsun has a massive nominal capacity of 23,756 TEU and is the frst of ten ultra large container vessels that MSC has on order. The ship is equipped with scrubbers to comply with IMO 2020 low- sulphur emissions, and can be adapted to operate on LNG in the future. It’s not just the northern hemisphere either. Some trade wars are more equal than others

It seems like an eternity ago since the Trump pre-election rhetoric turned into the real impositions of tarifs on China. That which was frst tweeted about in March 2018 turned into on-again, of-again tarif announcements. This really escalated into a full- blown trade war at the end of August 2019.
