The Southeastern Family showed Cook Field lots of love Thursday night for the Homecoming 2015 Lip Sync competition. The “Roar Like a Lion” Yell Competition, a new contest where teams perform their best one to two minute chant, was the first activity of the evening. Several teams roared their cheers for the judges, but none roared better than Sigma Sigma Sigma, Theta Chi and Delta Tau Delta who won first place in the new competition. Kappa Sigma and Phi Mu won second place and the Black Student Union won third place. Free pizza and Raising Cane’s were served directly after the “Roar Like a Lion” competition, giving socialization time and extra time to practice before Lip Sync. At 8:00 p.m., the main event of the evening came, starting with the Kappa Alpha Order showing the audience their journey to Neverland; Captain Hook captured Tinker Bell, but Peter Pan prevailed. Sigma Tau Gamma and Theta Phi Alpha got the wicked-witch- to-be ready for the homecoming game in their interpretation of “Wicked.” The Catholic Student Association brought the crowd back in time and made fun of the Lumberjacks, the opposing team for the Lions Homecoming Game this year.
