SERENA SIMPSON Production Sound Mixer Member IATSE 479 Serena Simpson is one of very few women Production Sound Mixers, still to this day. She takes great pride in her job and work ethic and has worked her way up through the business at an impressive clip. She got her start in the entertainment industry working in Commercial dialogue editing and Sound design. She then played a vital role in the start up of a successful Atlanta audiobook company. Her work in those Audio and Advertising related fields earned her two Telly Awards and an Audie before she transitioned to location Sound Mixing. Serena now does Commercials occasionally as Sound Mixer but now primarily works in Television and Features. She enjoys the different paces of the two formats and schedules and her versatility and experience allows her to adapt quickly to any logistical obstacles. Serena’s enthusiasm, calm and easy going personality and enjoyment of her work are always appreciated by Directors and Producers. When not on set, you can find Serena tending to her mini farm and family in Atlanta, Georgia. For Immediate Release Mouser Electronics, Marvel and Grant Imahara Present New Empowering Innovation Together Series New project introduces Mouser Innovation Lab, brings Super Hero technology to life April 20, 2016 — Mouser Electronics, Inc., a leading global authorized distributor of the newest electronic components, today announced the launch of a new series in the second year of the Empowering Innovation Together™ program with former Mythbusters star and longtime Mouser customer, Grant Imahara. The new program will also see the debut of the Mouser Innovation Lab™, where Imahara and special guests will build several cutting-edge projects powered by the newest products and technologies from Mouser’s manufacturer partners. In the first project Mouser will team up with Marvel to build Super Hero technology straight from the movie Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War — including real-life working versions of Captain America’s shield and Iron Man’s gauntlet. Grant Imahara will team up with viral video celebrity Allen Pan in a series of videos to highlight the full build process — from concept to the final unveiling. This first project is sponsored by Molex and Analog Devices, who will supply new, advanced parts for the challenging build. “With Mouser combining engineering and Marvel’s characters into an entertaining and easy to understand STEM-oriented video segment, it will help students and others gain new insights into the technology field,” stated Mindy Hamilton, Senior Vice President of Global Partnerships at Marvel Entertainment LLC. “We enjoy working with any partner that helps to highlight the benefits that STEM brings to young minds.” “I’m really excited to get into the new Mouser Innovation Lab and start working on these cool devices from the Marvel Cinematic Universe,” said Imahara. -

Whether dancing on stage, in school, or in the street, Ballet Hispánico creates a space where few institutions are breaking ground. The organization’s founder, National Medal of Arts recipient Tina Ramirez, sought to give voice to the Hispanic experience and break through stereotypes. Today, Ballet Hispánico is led by Eduardo Vilaro, an acclaimed choreographer and former member of the Company, whose vision of social equity, cultural identity, and quality arts education for all drives its programs. Ballet Hispánico, a role model in and for the Latino community, is inspiring creativity and social awareness in our neighborhoods and across the country by providing access to arts education.
