February 26, 2021 Amazon warehouse workers in Bessemer, Alabama are voting to form a union with the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union (RWDSU). We are the writers of feature films and television series. All of our work is done under union contracts whether it appears on Amazon Prime, a different streaming service, or a television network. Unions protect workers with essential rights and benefits. Most importantly, a union gives employees a seat at the table to negotiate fair pay, scheduling and more workplace policies. Deadline Amazon accepts unions for entertainment workers, and we believe warehouse workers deserve the same respect in the workplace. We strongly urge all Amazon warehouse workers in Bessemer to VOTE UNION YES. For further information contact the UOW Library: [email protected] The bitter taste of payback: the pathologising effect of TV revengendas Abstract The thirst for vengeance is a timeless subject in popular entertainment. One need only think of Old Testament scripture; Shakespeare's Hamlet; Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill or the TV series Revenge, and we immediately conjure up images of a protagonist striving to seek justice to avenge a heinous wrong committed against them. These texts, and others like it, speak to that which is ingrained in our human spirit about not only holding others responsible for their actions, but also about retaliation as payback. This article seeks to problematise the way the popular revenge narrative effectively constructs the vendetta as a guilty pleasure through which the audience can vicariously gain satisfaction, while at the same time perpetuates law's rhetoric that personal desires for vengeance are to be repressed and denied. -

Anthony Mackie to Star in Captain America 4: Report
Anthony Mackie to Star in Captain America 4: Report After seeing Anthony Mackie carry Captain America’s shield in the Falcon and the Winter Soldier, many fans believed that Sam Wilson will be the next Cap. As reported by Deadline, Mackie has closed the deal to star in Captain America 4. According to previous reports, the Falcon and the Winter Soldier showrunner Malcolm Spellman will be writing the script for Captain America 4 alongside the show’s staff writer Dalan Musson. Details regarding the rest of the cast, director, and plot of the movie are kept under the wraps. It would be interesting to see how the events in the Falcon and the Winter Soldier affect the story of Captain America 4. With John Walker’s U.S. Agent and Sharon Carter being the Powerbroker, fans can expect some great storylines in the next Captain America movie. It’s currently unclear whether Sebastian Stan will be reprising the role of Bucky Barnes for Captain America 4. MCU boss Kevin Feige recently shared an update on the Falcon and the Winter Soldier season 2. Feige revealed that the studio doesn’t really have any plans for future seasons yet, but he confirmed that the team behind the show has some ideas. Feige said, “We really did approach it like we do the movies… if we were able to do another one, there are certain ideas. The slight difference of course… like with WandaVision, they really will go back and forth between the Disney+ series and the movies… sometimes will be a Season 2, sometimes will be a feature.”. -
Emily's Hectic Career Leaves Little Time to Visit Her Home and Family
Forever Emily Emily’s hectic career leaves little time to visit her home and family Emily VanCamp moved away from her Port Perry circle of friends and acquaintances in the sixth grade of French Emersion at R.H. Cornish Public School, but now at age 20 she likes noth- ing more than popping home to visit her mom and dad, Cindy and Robert, sisters Katie, Molly and Alison, and extended family and friends whenever she can squeeze the time from her hectic schedule. “I just love to come home to touch base with my family,” she said in an interview with Focus On Scugog during her visit home. “They’re this constant in my life. If I got a big head, they’d burst my bubble pretty quickly.” At the age of 12, Emily moved to Montreal to pursue her ballet training and then on to Vancouver to work in a short-lived WB Network series called ‘Glory Days’ (2002). By that time she already had credits for playing the young Jackie Bouvier in the TV movie, ‘Jackie Bouvier Kennedy Onassis’ (CBS, 2000) and episodes here and there for ‘Are You Afraid Of The Dark’, ‘Radio Active’, ‘All Souls’ and ‘Dice’ (2000). Around ‘Glory Days’, Emily also made the telepic, ‘The Redeemer’ (USA, 2002) with Matthew Modine and ‘The House On Turk Street’ (WB, 2002) with Samuel L. Jackson and Milla Jovovich. “Glory Days was a wonderful experience,” Emily explains. “Although it didn’t last long, it spun my career into four years with ‘Everwood’, also a WB project.” As Amy Abbott, Emily acquired a devoted following. -

The 18th edition of the Marrakech International Film Festival runs from 29 November to 7 December 2019 12 BIG NAMES FROM WORLD CINEMA IN CONVERSATION WITH MARRAKECH AUDIENCES Rabat, 14 November 2019. The “Conversation with” section is one of the highlights of the Marrakech International Film Festival and returns during the 18th edition for some fascinating exchanges with some of those who create the magic of cinema around the world. As its name suggests, “Conversation with” is a forum for free-flowing discussion with some of the great names in international filmmaking. These sessions are free and open to all: industry professionals, journalists, and the general public. During last year’s festival, the launch of this new section was a huge hit with Moroccan and internatiojnal film lovers. More than 3,000 people attended seven conversations with some legendary names of the big screen, offering some intense moments with artists, who generously shared their vision and their cinematic techniques and delivered some dazzling demonstrations and fascinating anecdotes to an audience of cinephiles. After the success of the previous edition, the Festival is recreating the experience and expanding from seven to 11 conversations at this year’s event. Once again, some of the biggest names in international filmmaking have confirmed their participation at this major FIFM event. They include US director, actor, producer, and all-around legend Robert Redford, along with Academy Award-winning French actor Marion Cotillard. Multi-award-winning Palestinian director Elia Suleiman will also be in attendance, along with independent British producer Jeremy Thomas (The Last Emperor, Only Lovers Left Alive) and celebrated US actor Harvey Keitel, star of some of the biggest hits in cinema history including Thelma and Louise, The Piano, and Pulp Fiction.
