General Description ______2 Features & Benefits ______2 Manual ______2 Specifications______2 General Description The Digital Multimeter / Function Generator is a compact, general-purpose instrumentation module that provides the necessary test equipment (except the ) to perform the courses in the FACET program. The module consists of a sine/square/triangle waveshape function generator and an auto-ranging digital multimeter. All instruments share a common power input and are housed in a portable enclosure. All components, switches, and terminals are mounted in a tamper-resistant manner. The module’s design protects the instruments from inadvertent short circuits and overloads in the context of the FACET training system. The 3½ digit multimeter uses a liquid-crystal display (LCD) with auto-ranging capability for the voltage, ohms, and frequency functions. In addition, two current ranges (200 mA and 2 A) can be selected manually. Internal circuit protection is provided on all functions and ranges, except the current input, which is fuse protected. The sine/square/triangle waveshape generator provides a continuously adjustable output signal from 0 to 20 V peak-to-peak into an open circuit. The frequency coverage is continuous over 20 Hz to 200 kHz in four ranges and can be monitored internally using the of the multimeter. The output is protected against overload conditions by the clamping action of built into the internal circuitry. The Digital Multimeter / Function Generator is provided with all the necessary leads, as well as a user's manual for an easy introduction into its operation. Features & Benefits
