Levi – None of them. Annika – All the things. Do you have any family traditions? We usually do a tradition where we put a laminated paper tree and leaves on our kitchen wall and write things we’re thankful for all of November. We also raised two turkeys one year and butchered them for our Thanksgiving and Christmas meals. What are you thankful for? Lucas – I’m thankful for our house and animals. Levi – I’m thankful that we get to have a family vacation later this month. Annika – I’m thankful for food. This will keep the "Evangelistic Voice of Haiti" on the air when their current transmitter needs repair. This transmitter is the same as their current transmitter so they already know how to take care of it. It needs to be opened, cleaned and repaired now and then. This will allow all trans- mitter work to be done during the day rather than at night. I see on their web site that 80% of adults in Haiti are unable to read. Long distance AM radio reaches across the miles delivering daily help and eternal hope to communities in rural, isolated areas across the mountains. Radio is a very cost-effective way to reach and disciple people in Haiti. Even with the growth of internet use, radio is still the #1 source of information in Hai- ti. Thank you for your part in keeping us at SonSet Solutions where the Lord has provided a shop and special connections for working on transmitters like this one. Tim Zook, Broadcast Services Department Technician SonSet Solutions +1 574.970.4252 Ext. 236 http://sonsetsolutions.org Technology for abundant life! Back in Ecuador - Zook Update We have been so THANKFUL to be back in Ecuador Dakota is such a joy! Thanks to everyone who is praying for him. We continue to thank God for his good health and development! Our favorite thing right now is that he is laughing, which is so adorable! Thank you to everyone who donated toward our car pur- chase. We have already been able to use it SO MUCH for ministry and personally during this COVID pandemic to get out of the city into nature. Ministry Examples: - Josh was able to drive the Casa Adalia women and children to El Refugio, a retreat center, for a weekend away of refreshment and connection. - Some ESME staff members took the car to a town 6 hours away in order to do a home visit to a for- mer Casa Adalia woman and her family who experienced a sudden death in the family and live in extreme poverty. - Josh spends time each week with the Casa Adalia children and is able to take them to different parks. They even did a scavenger treasure hunt one day! Christmas is approaching and we are gearing up for AMADAS Christmas Outreach Parties once again for people in prostitution. Normally our prep includes a whole pro- gram for large groups of women (picture above of me last year in the program).

  • Song & Music in the Movement
Transcript: Song & Music in the Movement A Conversation with Candie Carawan, Charles Cobb, Bettie Mae Fikes, Worth Long, Charles Neblett, and Hollis Watkins, September 19 – 20, 2017. Tuesday, September 19, 2017 Song_2017.09.19_01TASCAM Charlie Cobb: [00:41] So the recorders are on and the levels are okay. Okay. This is a fairly simple process here and informal. What I want to get, as you all know, is conversation about music and the Movement. And what I'm going to do—I'm not giving elaborate introductions. I'm going to go around the table and name who's here for the record, for the recorded record. Beyond that, I will depend on each one of you in your first, in this first round of comments to introduce yourselves however you wish. To the extent that I feel it necessary, I will prod you if I feel you've left something out that I think is important, which is one of the prerogatives of the moderator. [Laughs] Other than that, it's pretty loose going around the table—and this will be the order in which we'll also speak—Chuck Neblett, Hollis Watkins, Worth Long, Candie Carawan, Bettie Mae Fikes. I could say things like, from Carbondale, Illinois and Mississippi and Worth Long: Atlanta. Cobb: Durham, North Carolina. Tennessee and Alabama, I'm not gonna do all of that. You all can give whatever geographical description of yourself within the context of discussing the music. What I do want in this first round is, since all of you are important voices in terms of music and culture in the Movement—to talk about how you made your way to the Freedom Singers and freedom singing.

  • We Are the World Lyrics.Pdf
We Are the World There comes a time when we heed a certain call When the world must come together as one There are people dying And its time to lend a hand to life The greatest gift of all We can't go on pretending day by day That someone, somehow will soon make a change We are all a part of Gods great big family And the truth, you know, Love is all we need We are the world, we are the children We are the ones who make a brighter day So lets start giving There's a choice we're making We're saving our own lives Its true we'll make a better day Just you and me Send them your heart so they'll know that someone cares And their lives will be stronger and free As God has shown us by turning stones to bread So we all must lend a helping hand We are the world, we are the children We are the ones who make a brighter day So lets start giving There's a choice we're making We're saving our own lives Its true we'll make a better day Just you and me When you're down and out, there seems no hope at all But if you just believe there's no way we can fall Let us realize that a change can only come When we stand together as one We are the world, we are the children We are the ones who make a brighter day So lets start giving There's a choice we're making We're saving our own lives Its true we'll make a better day Just you and me We are the world, we are the children We are the ones who make a brighter day So lets start giving There's a choice we're making We're saving our own lives Its true we'll make a better day Just you and me Songwriters RICHIE, LIONEL / JACKSON, MICHAEL Read more: Michael Jackson - We Are The World Lyrics | MetroLyrics .

  • Apple Label Discography
Apple Label Discography 100-800 series (Capitol numbering series) Apple Records was formed by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr in 1968. The Apple label was intended as a vehicle for the Beatles, their individual recordings and the talent they discovered. A great deal of what appeared on Apple was pretty self indulgent and experimental but they did discover a few good singers and groups. James Taylor recorded his first album on the label. Doris Troy recorded a good soul album and there are 2 albums by John Lewis and the Modern Jazz Quartet. The Beatlesque group Badfinger also issued several albums on the label, the best of which was “Straight Up”. Apple Records fell apart in management chaos in 1974 and 1975 and a bitter split between the Beatles over the management of the company. Once the lawyers got involved everybody was suing everybody else over the collapse. The parody of the Beatles rise and the disintegration of Apple is captured hilariously in the satire “All You Need Is Cash: the story of the Rutles”. The Apple label on side 1 is black with a picture of a green apple on it, black printing. The label on side 2 is a picture of ½ an apple. From November 1968 until early 1970 at the bottom of the label was “MFD. BY CAPITOL RECORDS, INC. A SUBSIDIARY OF CAPITOL INDUSTRIES INC. USA”. From Early 1970 to late 1974, at the bottom of the label is “MFD. BY APPLE RECORDS” From late 1974 through 1975, there was a notation under the “MFD.

  • Marriage Ceremony to the Guests
MARRIAGE CEREMONY TO THE GUESTS: We have come together today to witness the joining of two lives. For this, out of the routine of ordinary life, the extraordinary happened. GROOM and BRIDE met, fell in love, and it is their desire to unite in marriage today before their family and friends. A good marriage is remembering: The “little” things are the big things. It is never being too old to hold hands. It is remembering to say, “I love you” at least once a day. It is never going to sleep angry. It is standing together and facing the world. It is speaking words of appreciation, and demonstrating gratitude in thoughtful ways. It is having the capacity to forgive and forget. It is giving each other an atmosphere in which each can grow. It is a common search for the good and the beautiful. It is not only marrying the right person – it is being the right partner. TO THE BRIDE AND GROOM: Please join your right hands. May the vows you say to one another build the foundation for a long and enriched life. GROOM, will you have this woman to be your wedded wife, and live together in the holy state of matrimony? ANSWER: “I will” BRIDE, will you have this man to be your wedded husband, and live together in the holy state of matrimony? ANSWER: “I will” REPEAT AFTER ME. I, GROOM -- take you BRIDE -- to be my wife – to love and to cherish from this day forward – for better, for worse – for richer, for poorer – in sickness and in health – so long as we both shall live? I, BRIDE -- take you GROOM -- to be my husband – to love and to cherish from this day forward – for better, for worse – for richer, for poorer – in sickness and in health – so long as we both shall live? RING: The wedding ring is an outward and visible sign of an inward and spiritual bond, signifying to all the uniting of this man and woman in marriage.

  • Come Together
Come Together Pros and Cons Pros Cons • Lower costs to cities/counties and taxpayers • Reduced housing choices in rural areas • Farmland preserved • Restricting growth to certain areas leads to higher housing prices • Compact growth costs less for public agencies, allowing cities to use financial resources to support walk/bike/bus infrastructure • Shorter commutes What Would It Take? None of these scenarios will simply happen. Each will take a commitment to change. For “Come Together” these changes could include: • Focusing growth in already developed areas to make the best use of existing infrastructure • Increasing local funding for bus/bike/walk infrastructure • Ensuring that new development doesn’t strain existing infrastructure or financial resources Rate your support for specific strategies on the “Implementation” screen. References for Further Study 1. The Beatles: An Introduction The Beatles — sometimes referred to as the ‘Fab Four’ — have been more influential than any other popular-music ensemble in history. Between 1962, when they made their first recordings, and 1970, when they disbanded, the Beatles drew upon several styles, including rock ‘n’ roll, to produce rock: today a term that almost defines today’s popular music. In 1963 their successes in England as live performers and recording artists inspired Beatlemania, which calls to mind the Lisztomania associated with the spectacular success of Franz Liszt’s 1842 German concert tour. In 1964 their visit to the United States launched the so-called British Invasion that helped popularise other United Kingdom ensembles. Although the Beatles began mostly as cover artists and club jobbers, they eventually established themselves as the most compositionally original ensemble of all time. Ian MacDonald summarises their influence in these words: “With their groundbreaking albums Revolver (1966) and Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band (1967), the Beatles eclipsed even their most gifted rivals, achieving an eminence in contemporary popular culture which has endured and seems unlikely to diminish to any great extent in the foreseeable future.” In 1956, teenager John Lennon (1940-1980) organised an amateur pop group called the Quarry Men (or Quarrymen), which he named after Quarry Bank High School in Liverpool, an industrial and shipping city on the west coast of England and the Beatles’ home town.
