Outcomes of the planning made during the academic year 2012-13

 Introduction of the Short term vocational courses of Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University, Indira Gandhi National Open University, Jan Shikshan Sanstha, etc In detail study is going-on about which courses can be started during the year.  Compilation of Research publication of faculty Compilation of research publication during the year is made.  Coaching for differently abled students  Motivation to top students -

For motivation to top students, internet facilities is provided, seminars and workshops are arranged, special coaching is made to the top students to achieve better results.  Remedial coaching Remedial coaching courses are going on from the UGC scheme for the SC, ST, OBC students as well as other students is going on.  Mentoring Mentoring of the differently able students is going on by the experts in various subjects.  Inculcating research culture among the students and faculty Due to the motivation to the faculty by granting the leaves, number of faculty members doing Ph.D. and minor and major research projects are increasing. In case of students Avishkar research Academy, it is working effectively. For doing research projects college has set aside specific amount as research budget.  Consultancy services Consultancy services regarding bee-keeping, gardening, establishment of agro- tourism centers, fruit processing, water testing, soil testing are rendered by the various departments.  Strengthening working of Placement and Counseling Cell, Skill Development Club etc. For inculcating various softs skills and professional among the students skill development club is arranging various workshops and programmes. In case of placement of students, placement test was arranged by the Aspiring Minds Pvt. Ltd. Along with this placement cell is playing role as a liason between the local industries and students.  Establishment of Collaboration with other bodies establishment of collaboration with international bodies like Tress for Future and other local bodies is established. The projects are going on Registration of Alumni Association - In process.

 Tapping the Funds from UGC and other national bodies.  Establishment of Sport Complex and Health Center. - in process  Introduction of Academic Audit Academic Audit for the years from 2010-11 to 2012-13 is made from eminent personalities.  To strengthening best practices like mentoring, quality circle etc. - in process  Establishment of Competitive Examination Centre –in process 4

Part B Activities Carried Out During the Year 2012-13

1. Activities reflecting the Goals and Objectives of the Institution -

The college was established in 1996 with its prime goal to provide higher education to the students in the remote area like Lanja Tahasil, along with providing qualitative education with value addition. Our institution is trying best for overall development of the students to compete with the global competition. To enhance the skills among the students, college conducts various curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities through various committees and departments. The N.S.S. department and Department of Life Long Learning & Extension are taking initiative for inculcating social values among the students.

3. Innovations in Curricular Design and Transactions - As college is affiliated to Mumbai University, there is limited scope for curricular design to the college. However, some of our faculty members are members of Board of Studies in their respective subjects. They are contributing as a member of Board of Studies in curricular designing and development. Along with other faculty members are also contributing their views and ideas about the curriculum through various workshops organized by the university to discuss on revised syllabi. Feedback from various stakeholders on the curriculum is used as a base for suggestions in various seminars and workshop.

4. Inter –Disciplinary Programme Started – Career Oriented certificate course is started in the subject of honey Bee Processing in the subject of Botany Zoology. On behalf of commerce department a proposal is sent in the subject of fruit processing, pre and post harvest management of horticulture produce and hotel management.

5. Examination Reforms Implemented - The institution conducts an examination as per rules and regulations of the Mumbai University. Recently University of Mumbai has introduced Credit Based Grading and Semester System for evaluation of the system. It is beneficial to evaluate students' performance continuously. It also includes internal evaluation of 40 marks. Along with

examination pattern suggested by the university, International Evaluation System is developed by every department.

Financial aid to students - Financial incentives are offered to the students in the form of prizes, free ships, scholarships etc. along with this college has raised “ Student Welfare Fund” from the contribution of management, faculty, staff etc. This fund will be used to help the needy students in form of payment of fees and to meet other educational requirements.

College has also allowed to the students to pay the fees in convenient installments to the economically backward students.

On behalf of Alumni Association, a well known programme “ Geet Bahar ” was organized. The funds collected from the show were donated to the society, which can be utilized for infrastructure development.

Health Services - For the female students health centre is established in the college. A health services are provided by the doctor as per need of the students which consists regular check up and guidance to the students. A first aid centre is functioning in the College. Necessary medicines, band-aids and other first aid materials are stocked so as to meet an emergency.
