Compilation of Research publication of faculty Compilation of research publication during the year is made. Coaching for differently abled students Motivation to top students - 3 For motivation to top students, internet facilities is provided, seminars and workshops are arranged, special coaching is made to the top students to achieve better results. Remedial coaching Remedial coaching courses are going on from the UGC scheme for the SC, ST, OBC students as well as other students is going on. Mentoring Mentoring of the differently able students is going on by the experts in various subjects. Inculcating research culture among the students and faculty Due to the motivation to the faculty by granting the leaves, number of faculty members doing Ph.D. and minor and major research projects are increasing. In case of students Avishkar research Academy, it is working effectively. For doing research projects college has set aside specific amount as research budget. Consultancy services Consultancy services regarding bee-keeping, gardening, establishment of agro- tourism centers, fruit processing, water testing, soil testing are rendered by the various departments. Strengthening working of Placement and Counseling Cell, Skill Development Club etc. For inculcating various softs skills and professional among the students skill development club is arranging various workshops and programmes. In case of placement of students, placement test was arranged by the Aspiring Minds Pvt. Ltd. Along with this placement cell is playing role as a liason between the local industries and students. Establishment of Collaboration with other bodies establishment of collaboration with international bodies like Tress for Future and other local bodies is established. The projects are going on Registration of Alumni Association - In process. Tapping the Funds from UGC and other national bodies. Establishment of Sport Complex and Health Center. - in process Introduction of Academic Audit Academic Audit for the years from 2010-11 to 2012-13 is made from eminent personalities. To strengthening best practices like mentoring, quality circle etc. - in process Establishment of Competitive Examination Centre –in process 4 Part B Activities Carried Out During the Year 2012-13 1. Activities reflecting the Goals and Objectives of the Institution - The college was established in 1996 with its prime goal to provide higher education to the students in the remote area like Lanja Tahasil, along with providing qualitative education with value addition. Our institution is trying best for overall development of the students to compete with the global competition. To enhance the skills among the students, college conducts various curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities through various committees and departments. The N.S.S. department and Department of Life Long Learning & Extension are taking initiative for inculcating social values among the students. 2. New Academic Programme Initiated - Aid-on courses 3. Innovations in Curricular Design and Transactions - As college is affiliated to Mumbai University, there is limited scope for curricular design to the college. However, some of our faculty members are members of Board of Studies in their respective subjects. They are contributing as a member of Board of Studies in curricular designing and development. Along with other faculty members are also contributing their views and ideas about the curriculum through various workshops organized by the university to discuss on revised syllabi. Feedback from various stakeholders on the curriculum is used as a base for suggestions in various seminars and workshop. 4. Inter –Disciplinary Programme Started – Career Oriented certificate course is started in the subject of honey Bee Processing in the subject of Botany Zoology. On behalf of commerce department a proposal is sent in the subject of fruit processing, pre and post harvest management of horticulture produce and hotel management. 5. Examination Reforms Implemented - The institution conducts an examination as per rules and regulations of the Mumbai University. Recently University of Mumbai has introduced Credit Based Grading and Semester System for evaluation of the system. It is beneficial to evaluate students' performance continuously. It also includes internal evaluation of 40 marks. Along with 5 examination pattern suggested by the university, International Evaluation System is developed by every department. 6. Candidates Qualified: NET/ SLET/ GATE etc. Prof. R. N. Kamble ( NET qualified) 7. Mahavidyalaya, Kavathe Mahankal, Dist. -Sangli. (MS), India 416405 Abstract: Diversity of spiders from Zolambi region of Chandoli National Park in Western Ghats is studied for the first time. A total of 90 species belonging to 55 genera and 19 families are recorded from the study area during 2011-2013 with a dominance of Araneid, Salticid and Lycosid spiders. Key words: Spider diversity, Western Ghats I. Introduction Spiders comprise one of the largest orders of animals. The spider fauna of India has never been studied in its entirety despite of contributions by many arachnologists since Stoliczka (1869). The pioneering contribution on the taxonomy of Indian spiders is that of European arachnologist Stoliczka (1869). Review of available literature reveals that the earliest contribution by Blackwall (1867); Karsch (1873); Simon (1887); Thorell (1895) and Pocock (1900) were the pioneer workers of Indian spiders. They described many species from India. Tikader (1980, 1982), Tikader, described spiders from India. Tikader (1980) compiled a book on Thomisidae spiders of India, comprising two subfamilies, 25 genera and 115 species. Pocock (1900) and Tikader (1980, 1987) made major contributions to the Indian Arachnology, have high lightened spider studies to the notice of other researcher. Tikader (1987) also published the first comprehensive list of Indian spiders, which included 1067 species belonging to 249 genera in 43 families.

ABSTRACT Diversity of spiders from Radhanagari Wildlife Sanctuary, Chandoli Na- tional Park and Koyna Wildlife Sanctuary in Western Ghats is studied for the first time. A total of 247 species belonging to 119 genera and 28 families are recorded from the study area during 2010-2012 with a dominance of Araneid, Salticid and Lycosid spiders. Key words: Spider diversity, Western Ghats INTRODUCTION Spiders comprise one of the largest (5-6th) orders of animals. The spider fauna of India has never been studied in its entirety despite of contributions by many arachnologists since Stoliczka (1869). The pioneering contribution on the taxonomy of Indian spiders is that of European arachnologist Stoliczka (1869). Review of available literature reveals that the earliest contribution by Blackwall (1867); Karsch (1873); Simon (1887); Thorell (1895) and Pocock (1900) were the pioneer workers of Indian spiders. They described many species from India. Tikader (1980, 1982), Tikader, and Malhotra (1980a,b) described spiders from India. Tikader (1980) compiled a book on Thomisid spiders of India, comprising two subfamilies, 25 genera and 115 species. Of these, 23 species were new to science. Descriptions, illustrations and distributions of all species were given. Keys to the subfamilies, genera, and species were provided. Tikader and Biswas (1981) studied 15 families, 47 genera and 99 species from Calcutta and surrounding areas with illustrations and descriptions.

    COVID 19 RESPONSE BY SOPPECOM Status Report: Two 6 June, 2020 Society for Promoting Partipative Ecosystem Management (SOPPECOM), Pune Email: [email protected]; Website: https://www.soppecom.org Introduction COVID 19 pandemic and the extended lockdowns has left millions of people especially the poorer sections of the society, including the migrant labourers to face some extremely difficult situations. The unplanned and improperly executed lockdowns are leading to loss of life and livelihoods. There are a number of organizations and institutions that are doing COVID 19 relief work to help out different communities in coping up with the current difficult times. SOPPECOM also through its COVID19 response programme has been doing relief work for the past couple of months. Our COVID 19 response has been spaced out in the three phases. In Phase one we provided dry ration and essentials like soap and detergents to the most needy and vulnerable communities. In Phase Two, we would provide some minimum support to most needy families to buy seeds and other inputs so that they can partially meet the costs of the land preparation for the Kharif sowing in time. Phase Three, is a long term engagement and effort would be to work with social activists in the area of awareness building and also improving their capacities to engage with such incidents/events/disasters in the future. Phase One began in the first week of April. The village Waghangaon is located in the North West of the Vilawade Station Road No National park or wildlife sanctuary lies within the buffer zone or nearby this region. No displacements of settlement are required. No sensitive places of notified archaeological, historical or tourist importance within or nearby the buffer zone. Project Description Location: The site is located at Gut No 571 Part ,Waghangaon Village, Lanja Taluka, District Ratnagiri, Maharashtra. The site is accessible from State Highway No 275 . Land: The land provided comes under mining area approved by the government of Maharashtra. Therefore no need of human displacement is needed in the project area. The land provided for stone mining is 1.28 hectare to the project proponent. Co-ordinate: The coordinates of the plant site are latitude 16°48'8.43"N and longitude 73° 37'38.25"E Water: Water requirement of the project will be met through the water tanker and bore well which is existing in the human settlement area.
