Forecast Calls for Snow: Right-hander Forrest Snow won for just the second time this year and the first time in eight starts on Sunday at Lake County, turning in a career-high 8.0 innings with just one run allowed to beat the Captains. It was the team-leading 7 th quality start for Snow , who has worked 6.0-plus innings in nine of his 12 starts including eight-consecutive starts. He’s given up just two runs in his last 15.0 IP for an ERA of 1.20, lowering his season ERA from 4.45 to 3.77. Seattle’s 36 th round pick in 2010 out of the University of Washington, Snow ranks amongst MWL leaders in innings pitched (2 nd with 71.2 IP) and strikeouts (5 th with 66).

An All-Star Performance from K-Pax: Newly-minted Midwest League All-Star, left-hander James Paxton turned in his first career scoreless start Saturday in a win at Lake County, the second of his career. He yielded a season-low two hits over 5.0 innings, walked four and struck out nine, lowering his ERA from 2.43 to 2.11 in the process. Seattle’s 4 th round pick out of independent ball in 2010, Paxton is 2-1 with a 1.39 ERA (6 ER in 32.1 IP) and 48 strikeouts over his last six starts dating back to his pro debut, a loss vs. Peoria (career-high 3 ER). The Ladner, BC, Canada native has struck out 54 batters over 38.1 IP this season, a 12.68 strikeouts/9.0 IP average. He’s set to be Clinton’s lone representative on Tuesday, June 21 at Modern Woodmen Park in Davenport, IA for the 2011 MWL All-Star Game.

Seco is coming off a no-decision on 6/2 at Fort Wayne despite yielding four runs on seven hits over just 3.1 innings…he gave up a solo home run to Rymer Liriano, walked one and struck out two, exiting with a 5-3 lead…Clinton went on to beat the TinCaps 9-8. A non-drafted free agent signed by the Mariners in 2005 out of Calabozo, Venezuela, Seco will face the Dragons for the first time in his career and a Cincinnati Reds’ affiliate for the third time. He faced Reds’ affiliates in the VSL in 2005 and 2007, going a combined 0-1 with a 1.59 ERA (1 ER in 5.2 IP) over two relief appearances.
