Issue 510 Bud & Broadway on the Move Taking a Morning Show on a Remarkable Journey from Market No
August 1 2016, Issue 510 Bud & Broadway On The Move Taking a morning show on a remarkable journey from market No. 188 to No. 22 was all part of the five- (and-a-half) year plan for WIL/St. Louis’ Bud & Broadway. Of course, their decades of programming and on-air experience helped. Country Aircheck reached out for a travelogue. In 2010, WTVY/Dothan, AL PD Jerry Broadway brought in Bud Ford for afternoons. “After he and I met and started hanging out, we figured out pretty quick that we should be doing a morning show together,” says Broadway. “I was already on the morning show, and an opportunity came up to add a partner, and I decided Bud was going to be that guy.” Don’t Be Your Own Boss: The two tapped prodigious programming experience – Ford’s includes WKDF/Nashville – and aimed to create a show either would hire. Country Aircheck got the consensus on last night’s (4/19) 50th ACM Awards from some folks in radio. KFDI/Wichita APD Carol Hughes: I about fell off my sofa when they opened the show with “Pledge Allegiance To The Hag.” They included songs that would never be on an awards show. Jason Aldean’s medley was fantastic. I loved the Milestone Awards. Those artists were not just brought onstage as a courtesy but they were showcased in a wonderful way and given a huge spotlight to show just why they were Milestone winners. -

The drama club at Westampton Middle School puts on a play every year. This year the play was Annie jr. Many students and staff take part in the play every year. This year the part of Annie was played by Gabriella W. Gabriella has an amazing voice, and she put on a beautiful performance. The play was very well thought out with the dances and choreog- raphy. Mr. Condoleon and Mr. Tornquist directed and choreographed an amazing show. The play was very funny and interesting. Annie was a very good choice. So to everyone who worked on the play: you did an amaz- ing job! EDITORIAL: Women’s History Month In Praise Of Bethany Hamilton By Isabella I. Through long periods of history women have been consid- ered inferior to men. That is why when Women's History Month comes around it is important to recognize how far we have come. There have been some very amazing and powerful women in his- tory, and we need to appreciate them. One of these incredible women is Bethany Hamilton. She was attacked by a 14-foot-long tiger shark on a surfboard at the age of 13 and lost her left arm. Everyone was convinced she would never surf again. -
