The Washington Kastles, DC’s professional team, is looking for disciplined hardworking individuals to help make our third season as much of a success as our first two. The Washington Kastles are the newest franchise of World TeamTennis Pro League, a professional and amateur co-ed tennis league started by . In 2010 the Kastles will fight to defend their 2009 WTT Championship title.

Internship Specifics:

The Washington Kastles are currently looking for dedicated, hardworking individuals to join our staff for the 2010 season. We are offering several paid full-time, seasonal positions in the following areas: marketing, sportswriting, communications, ticket sales, grassroots/community relations, site development and game day operations. Ideal candidates should be organized, energetic, self-starters with attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast- paced environment. Our seasonal employees are an integral part of our staff and vital to ensuring the Kastles’ season runs smoothly. A job with the Kastles provides hands-on experience working for a major professional sports franchise across all aspects of the business.

• We are currently seeking interns for the Spring and Summer semesters. • For the Spring semester, hours are negotiable since the team is in the off season. Interns may be required to attend weekend and night events to promote the team in the community. • In the Summer, the internship is full-time. Summer interns are required to work at all matches and may be required to attend weekend and night events to promote the team. • Students are able to earn college credit through the internship program. Monetary compensation is determined on a case by case basis.

About the Washington Kastles The Washington Kastles enter their third year of World TeamTennis Pro League (WTT) in July 2010. The Kastles, owned by local entrepreneur Mark Ein, have been led for the last two seasons by ten-time Grand Slam singles champion . The 35th season of the WTT Pro League, founded in 1974 by tennis legend Billie Jean King, runs from July 2-26, concluding with the WTT Championship Weekend. In 2009, the Washington Kastles hosted this weekend here in DC and took home the King Trophy in a 23-20 victory over the . Throughout the season, the Kastles will actively work with local charities and community organizations to share the mission of WTT and bring the game of tennis to the broader community.
