The company recently celebrated the launch of their latest muscle Mustang named the Shelby 1000. The car, which debuted at the New York International Auto Show on April 5th, boasts a 5.4L V8 engine capable of produc- ing a jaw-dropping 1,100+ horsepower. That’s right, more than 1,000 ponies of pure excitement. APRIL Obviously, such a car isn’t street legal. That’s why the folks at Shelby American are also offering a CLUB MEETING street legal version, said to output around 950 horsepower. Whoa, horsey! Friday, April 13 Phil Long Ford, Denver **The Track S/C Version (1,100 Horsepower): $154,995 + the cost of a 2012 Shelby GT500 Tufts & Wadsworth **The Street Legal Version (950 Horsepower): $149,995 + the cost of a 2012 Shelby GT500 2nd Floor Meeting Room 7:00 PM The post-title package, which was designed for “anyone with a need for speed”, will first require the BRING YOUR MUSTANGS! purchase of a 2012 Ford Shelby GT500, which will set you back around $48,810. Then you’ll need to purchase the package of your choice. Buyers looking for the most powerful version of the car will ———–——— need to purchase the Track S/C version, which starts at $154,995. The post-title street package for ColoradoStangs’ Mustang the Shelby 1000 starts at $149,995. When all is said and done, a completed Shelby 1000 is expected Birthday Poker Run/Cruise to be approximately $200,000. No doubt, neither package is cheap, but hey, with that much horse- power under the hood, that’s to be expected. The final step involves shipping, or dropping, your car Sunday, April 29th off at Shelby America’s Las Vegas Facility where the work will begin. Starts @ Shelby Museum Near - Boulder, CO “Carroll Shelby is a visionary who has pushed the boundaries of performance his entire life,” said 9:00 AM John Luft, president of Shelby American. “He challenged the Shelby American team to develop the Shelby 1000 and wanted to unveil this amazing new Shelby at the New York Auto Show celebrating 50 years since he unveiled the very first Shelby Cobra that changed the face of high performance. We will have that very car, Cobra #1 (CSX2000) along with Shelby 1000 on display in our Shelby American booth in New York.” So how did Shelby create such a powerful beast? Well, the company says they started by stripping President: Jim Cosper Ford’s 5.4 liter V8 engine down to the block to add new rods, crank, and pistons. Source: themustangnews.com The story of Saleen Inc has been much lamented in enthusiast circles over the past decade. In 2007 Steve Saleen left the company he started which was then followed by that company losing its way and eventually collapsing without a vision. Steve himself courageously started over with SMS Supercars and has continued to do what he does so well. -Today the saga has come full circle. The Saleen name and logo now once again fly at Steve’s office and on his cars. Steve Saleen, his family, and his team have announced today that the Saleen brand name is now theirs again. -“In 2007, it was a difficult decision to resign from Saleen, Inc.”, said Steve Saleen. “But I knew it had to be done in order to preserve the Saleen brand and to ensure the authenticity and high performance that our customers had come to expect.” -Most people who have followed know that Saleen Inc went into four years of disarray under multiple ownership changes, management changes, liquida- tions and churning out cars with Steve’s name on them but with little of his blessing. Across the country in Southern California, SMS Supercars began anew with the SMS 570 Challenger, SMS 302 Mustang and the SMS 620 Camaro. -But something was wrong. The enthusiast community who still felt a connection with the man himself and how his hand in the product made it right was missing something. At car shows around the country and forum boards the common think was that he’s just gotta get his name back – what’s happening just isn’t right. -In that way support for Saleen Inc in Michigan, owned by faceless investors lost all wind in their sails. The brand was not going to be supported by those who know better. And in a bad economy if your going to sell expensive toys, people have to love you. Last year that company stopped building cars. -And to that Steve says, “Although the Saleen brand is a huge part of my identity, I knew it was the vision and passion that would shine through on my signature vehicles. However, it couldn’t have been done without the support of the Saleen community. The foundation and inspiration that they gave me to move forward with my vision was what ultimately moved us to regain the Saleen branding. Most importantly the Saleen community gets their identity back as well.” -So what happens now? Well Steve’s cars will start saying Saleen on them again. The buildings at 2735 Wardlow Road in Corona will say Saleen on them. Additionally for all those who have wondered if the company was still alive or not, Steve says they have some new models coming soon. -Specifically, Steve says 4V, SC, SSC, and X Models of the 2013 Mustang are on the way in addition to new Camaro and Challenger based models.

    OFFICE OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL FLORIDA NEW MOTOR VEHICLE ARBITRATION BOARD CASE SUMMARIES January 1997-March 1998 JURISDICTION: Ramirez & Gendler v. Nissan Motor Corporation, 1996-1143/FTL (Fla. NMVAB Dec. 12, 1996) The Manufacturer asserted that the Board lacked jurisdiction to consider the Consumer’s claim because the defect complained of stemmed directly from an accident. The defect complained of was an electric short with an air bag sensor. The Board concluded that the dispute between the parties to this case involved issues of product liability or negligence connected with the accident. The matters raised in this case were found to be outside the scope of the board’s authority. The claim was dismissed. Darling v. Ford Motor Co., 1997-0758/FTM (Fla. NMVAB Oct. 7, 1997) Prior to the arbitration hearing, the Consumer voluntarily surrendered his vehicle to the Lessor and made no arrangements with the Lessor to regain possession or custody of the vehicle. The Board concluded that Section 681.104(2)(a), Florida Statutes (1995) contemplated that the Consumer would be in possession of the vehicle or otherwise capable of delivering the vehicle to the Manufacturer if the Consumer prevailed in arbitration. Since the Consumer no longer had possession or title to the vehicle, he was not eligible for arbitration by the Board and the case was dismissed. Ramos v. American Isuzu Motors, Inc., 1998-0048/JAX (Fla. NMVAB March 11, 1998) The Consumer purchased her vehicle in Florida but subsequently moved to Connecticut. All of the repairs were performed in Connecticut. The Consumer requested arbitration by the Better Business Bureau in Connecticut and informed the BBB the vehicle had been purchased in Florida.

    Hidden Creek Racing Hidden Creek Racing was a partner with Saleen. The partnership included racing and funding the development of new Saleen automobiles. Hidden Creek owned Saleen SR 00-0004. Hidden Creek and Saleen jointly sponsored the racing operations of the SR. In 2001, Saleen debuted its new supercar, the S7. The development of the S7 was funded by Tony Johnson, of Hidden Creek Racing. Tony Johnson was the head of both Hidden Creek and of Saleen Performance. When the S7 was introduced, Ken Gross, of Forbes Magazine, covered the event. Saleen's Supercar By Ken Gross From Henry Ford, Ettore Bugatti, and Walter P. Chrysler, to Enzo Ferrari and John DeLorean, car company founders have long sought a lasting memorial on the badge of an automobile. Although the wrecking yards of history are littered with once-great emblems that failed--names like Duesenberg, Cord, Tucker and, most recently, Oldsmobile--that hasn't prevented determined men from trying.     2020 Saleen S302 Review – GT Alternative By Seth Parks on July 30, 2020 Share 92 Tweet First, a disclaimer. I appreciate the Mustang and maintain that it belongs on the short list of anyone shopping sub-$50,000 performance cars. However, this is not a Mustang review. This is a Saleen S302 White Label review. Saleen has been a purveyor of modified Mustangs since 1984. Advertisement Powered By The White Label is the entry offering from their S302 White, Yellow, Black Label range. At a glance, the S302 White Label’s over-car stripe and copious badging place it in good company with its predecessors. They also put it at risk of presenting as a stripe and sticker package. There are no fewer than 12 Saleen badges on the exterior, 10 on the interior, and one under hood (I may have missed some). A look beyond the badges reveals bespoke 20-inch wheels (20×9.5 front, 20×11 rear) wrapped in ZR- rated rubber tucked neatly into the wheel arches, a relatively subtle high air-flow grill, and a high down- force rear spoiler. In addition to the interior brand reminders are a substantial shift knob on shortened shaft, white-face gauges, Alcantara-trimmed steering wheel, and the obligatory serialized plaque under the passenger side binnacle. Underneath are RaceCraft front and rear springs and sway bar pivot bushings, as well as mildly upgraded brakes. Saleen also adds its PowerFlash calibration, which nets owners a 15 horsepower bump over stock to a new peak of 475 horsepower. All this comes at about an $8,000 premium over whatever Mustang GT you select.

It might not have set the Le Mans record books alight, but the Saleen S7R is a car whose recognition from today’s new wave of PlayStation-generation collectors is timely. After all, modern-era endurance racing cars have been one of the few success stories in the collector car market in recent years. It’s something with which Florent Moulin, the owner of this particular S7R and the founder of Art & Revs in Luxembourg, is all too familiar.
