The team posted a 27-23 record in 2009 after the Vikings won 27 games combined in the 2007 and 2008 seasons. Also in 2009, the Vikings fin- ished 6th in the Conference after being picked to finish 11th in the pre-season coaches poll. Prior to Augie Huber had a successful 4 year stint as head coach at Dakota County Technical College. He was an assistant at Southwest MN State in 2003 & 2004 and Macalester College in 2002. He played at MN State Mankato where he still ranks highly on several career hitting charts. Mark Moriarty– Pitching Coach -Augustana College. Pitched at St Scholastica College in Duluth, MN, where he ranks highly on every career pitching record list; 1st all time in appearances, 2nd in strikeouts, 3rd in wins, and 4th in innings pitched. He also holds the single game record for strikeouts with 16. Pitched two years for the Madison Mallards in the Northwoods League. Pitched professionally with the St Paul Saints of the American Association this summer. Landon Danelson-Comes to Augustana after being an assistant coach in 2008 for Oklahoma Panhandle State, in 2007 for MN State Mankato, and in 2006 with Beth- any Lutheran College. Danelson enjoyed a standout playing career at Miles Community College (MT) and MN State Mankato. Danelson played in the North- woods League for the Mankato Moondogs. Bryce Ahrendt– Former Augustana pitcher & current assistant coach. Pitched professionally for the San An- gelo Colts & Rio Grande Valley White Wings in the United Baseball League, and the Sioux Falls Canaries. JaColby Anderson– Former Augie pitcher & catcher and current assistant coach. Played in the Northwoods 2009-2010 League for the Rochester Honkers. Garrett Retka- Retka played college baseball as a WINTER CLINICS catcher at Minnesota State University, Mankato and the University of Minnesota. He also played professional ball with the Duluth Dukes of the Northern League. He & is an assistant coach at Henry Sibley HS in MN.
