MINNESOTA/IOWA POD STANDINGS In all-too-familar fashion, the Honkers stayed competitive for a majority of Sunday’s game against the Mankato MoonDogs before the TEAM W L PCT GB STR L10 bullpen malfunctioned to give up nine runs en route to an 11-1 Roch- ester loss. As has become commonplace for the Honkers, left-hander Waterloo 22 12 .647 -- W1 6-4 Larson Kindreich (Biola) was sensational through 5.1 innings, allowing St. Cloud 21 12 .636 0.5 L1 8-2 just two runs on five hits. Kindreich struck out five, but left the bases loaded for Ben Byom (Wisconsin-La Crosse), who walked all three Willmar 19 16 .543 3.5 L1 3-7 runners home before being pulled. By the time it was all said and Mankato 15 20 .429 7.5 W1 5-5 done, Mankato plated seven runs in the bottom of the sixth, pinning Kindreich with his first loss of the season. The Honkers mustered just Rochester 6 23 .207 13.5 L1 2-8 six hits in the ballgame, the eighth time that Rochester collected six or less hits in its last 10 games.
