Our God loves us, Our God as we hear wishes to Comfort us – to heal us and know that He is with us when we most need Him! In today’s Gospel we also hear: Behold, I am sending my messenger ahead of you; he will prepare your way. A voice of one crying out in the desert: Prepare the way of the Lord, make straight his paths. Mk: 1:2-3 The emphasis the first Sunday of ADVENT was WATCH. Today on the 2nd Sunday it is PREPARE! The Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception is December 8th, a Holy Day of Obligation. There is great devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe in our Hispanic Community. We will gather for the Rosary about 6pm. The Rosary will be alternated by Decade in Spanish and English. There will be an evening Mass at 7:00 Pm in the Church. Bishop Richard Henning, our Episcopal Vicar will be the celebrant of the Mass in Spanish. All are welcome. The Blessing of the Crèche and the Lighting of the Christmas Tree will also be held on December 12th with social distancing immediately after the 5:00Pm Mass about 6PM. We will gather to bless the Nativity scene and light our newly planted Christmas tree donated by the Knights of Columbus to the right of the Church. Our choir will gather outside with social distancing to lead us in a few Christmas Carols. Next year we look forward to more celebration and fun with our hopes and prayers for an end to the pandemic! Christmas Masses Planning: May I suggest that you consider attending the earlier Masses on Christmas Eve at 2pm (there will be one in the Upper church and one in lower church also) With the pandemic, Bishop Barres has given us permission to celebrate Christmas Eve Masses at 2pm. You may also consider attending either the 8pm, 10 pm or Midnight Masses on Christmas Eve. Tra- ditionally as you know the (2) 4: O’clock pm Masses are very crowded. Although it is difficult to judge the crowds during this unprece- dented time, we are trying to social distance effectively. So I ask the faithful to consider earlier Masses at 2pm or after the 4pm Masses on Christmas Eve. Thanks for your flexibility and consideration in planning. With prayers that we prepare worthily for the coming of the Lord, Fr.
