It has been amazing to meet and work with the excellent team of committed staff, Commissioners, affiliate Youth General leaders and volunteers that make the high quality parks, facilities, leagues, programs, special events and services available and affordable to all. Youth Dance What an exciting summer we have in store for you with the Mokena Community Park District! Youth Gymnastics I urge you to take time for yourself and your family and friends this summer by utilizing the Park Youth Athletics & Special Events District to create and share special memories; develop and enhance new skills; increase physical fitness; and explore and connect with nature. We have a full variety of programs and special events Youth/High School Athletic planned for all ages and abilities through the Park District and Lincolnway Special Recreation Leagues Association. Don’t miss out – RECREATE! Summer Camps We are proud to open several new amenities at Yunker Farm, including a splash pad, dog park, community gardens, and outdoor band shell, which are all scheduled to open by early June. The All Ages expansion of the Oaks Recreation and Fitness Center is planned to open later in the summer and Teen/Adult Programs will provide much needed additional programming space for our growing athletic leagues and special events. Make sure to check out the park district website and facebook page for complete information Adult Leagues/Athletics on grand opening celebrations. All Ages Open Gym Don’t let summer pass by without enjoying some of these activities: Health & Wellness • Visit one of our 20 fabulous parks to enjoy a picnic, sit on a bench, play on the playground, fly a kite, watch a baseball game, or play sand volleyball, tennis or a round of The Oaks Recreation & Fitness disc golf. Center • Walk or run on the indoor track, try an exercise class, lift weights, or play basketball, pickleball or other sports at the newly expanded Oaks Recreation and Fitness Center. Parties • Children can unplug from technology to make friends, explore the outdoors, and learn Facility Rentals new things at Summer Day Camp or visit local fun places with the new Passport to Adventure. We will have photo ops of some of the icons on the route, including the Polk-a-Dot ; the Gemini Giant; and many others. We will hear the history of the famous road along with that of the towns along the way. There will be museum stops in Joliet and the Rt. 66 Museum in Pontiac. Lincoln-Way Area Adult Tennis This instructional tennis program is for players 21 years-of-age and older. The terms “I”, “me” and “my” also refer to parents or guardians as well as participants in the programs. In registering for these programs, you are agreeing as follows. As a participant in these programs, I recognize and acknowledge that there are certain risks of physical injury, and I agree to assume the full risk of any injuries, damages or loss which I may sustain as a result of participating, in any manner, in any and all activities connected with or associated with such programs. I further recognize and acknowledge that all athletic activities involving strenuous exertion or potential body contact are hazardous recreational activities and involve substantial risks of injury.
