I nostri film, opere teatrali, libri, articoli, musiche, disegni, dipinti, sculture, foto, coreografie e altre forme d’arte sono fonte di ricchezza e orgoglio per la cultura europea. La nostra arte è sia la nostra passione che la nostra professione.

Perché le persone possano continuare a giovarsi della cultura europea nel mondo digitale di oggi e affinché i creatori possano sopravvivere del loro lavoro sia oggi che domani, vi chiediamo con forza di adottare la Direttiva Copyright.

La Direttiva mette finalmente allo stesso livello noi creatori e quelli che comunicano e distribuiscono i nostri lavori su media e piattaforme. È una questione di rispetto reciproco. È essenziale per la sostenibilità delle nostre attività e quindi della diversità culturale ed artistica d’Europa.

È nell’interesse di ognuno promuovere i diritti degli autori affinché possano continuare a creare e quindi a portare benefici durevoli alla società tutta. Se vogliamo trattenere i migliori talenti d’Europa e costruire la prossima generazione di creatori europei, dobbiamo salvaguardare i loro diritti e migliorare le loro condizioni di vita. In gioco non sono solo i creatori, ma il futuro stesso della cultura europea.

Voi avete l’occasione di mandare un messaggio storico e positivo alle future generazioni di creatori: che il loro valore è riconosciuto e che verranno remunerati in modo giusto per il loro lavoro.

Vi chiediamo quindi con urgenza, Onorevoli Deputati, di dire sì a questa riforma.
