THE CONSERVATION OF WILD LIFE ACT , C HAP . 67:01

REGULATIONS

MADE BY THE MINISTER UNDER SECTION 24 OF THE CONSERVATION OF WILD LIFE ACT

THE CONSERVATION OF WILD LIFE (AMENDMENT) (NO. 2) REGULATIONS, 2020

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Conservation of Wild Life Citation (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations, 2020. 2. In these Regulations, “the Regulations” means the Conservation Interpretation of Wild Life Regulations. Chap. 67:01 3. The Conservation of Wild Life Act is amended in the Second Second Schedule Schedule, by deleting the list of– amended (a) and listed in Parts I and II; and Chap. 67:01 (b) the cage birds in Part III as follows: “Cravat or Trinidad (Euphonia trinitatis) Parakeet or Green-rumped parrotlet (Forpus passerinus) Semp or ( Euphonia violacea ) Chats: Nun Chat or Lesson’s seedeater ( Sporophila bouyronides ), King Chat or Lined seedeater ( Sporophilia lineola ), Chicki-Chong, Bullfinch or Chestnut-bellied seed- ( Oryzoborus angolensis ) Picoplat or Grey seedeater ( Sporophila intermedia ) Yellow-bellied seedeater ( Sporophila nigricollis ).”. 4. The Regulations are amended– Regulation 9 amended (a) in regulation 9– (i) in subregulation (1), by inserting after the words “No person shall keep a protected in captivity” the words “, with the exception of the animals listed in the Third Schedule of these Regulations,”; and (ii) by inserting after subregulation (1), the following subregulation: “(1A) A person shall not serve, purchase, sell, offer, advertise for sale or expose for sale or have in his possession, the whole or any part of an animal carcass or meat whether frozen, fresh, cooked or otherwise, referred to in the Third Schedule of these Regulations.”; 1428 Conservation of Wild Life (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations, 2020

(iii) in subregulation (2), by deleting the words “subregulation (1)” and substituting the words “subregulation (1) or (1A)”. (b) by inserting after the Second Schedule, the following new Schedule:

“THIRD SCHEDULE Regulation 9(1A) PART I

Animals– Alligator or Cayman Lizards Agouti Armadillo (Tattoo) Deer (in Trinidad only ) Lappe Quenk (Peccary or Wild Hog)

PART II Birds– Black Vulture (Corbeau) ( Coragyps atratus ) Orange-winged amazon parrot ( Amazona amazonica ) Ramier or pigeons: Scaled Pigeon ( Columba speciosa ), Pale-vented Pigeon ( Columba cayennensis), Eared Dove ( Zenaida auriculata ), Ruddy Ground-Dove ( Columbina talpacoti ), White-tipped Dove Leptotila verreauxi) , Gray-fronted Dove ( Leptotila rufaxilla ).

PART III Cage Birds – Cage Birds which may be captured or kept captive by cage: Cravat or Trinidad Euphonia ( Euphonia trinitatis) Parakeet or Green-rumped parrotlet (Forpus passerinus) Semp or Violaceous Euphonia (Euphonia violacea). ”.
