Amit started his film career as an Executive Producer with Actor- Producer ’s “Nav Ketan” in 1971.

Delhi – born , Amit is arguably India’s most experienced MediaCorporate Professional with 5 decades of international Awardwinning film – TV – videotronic filmscripts , lyrics , narratives and production – direction including 3 National Awards for 1984 A Love Story 1997 , Kareeb 1999 , Main Zinda Hoon , Chalte Chalte , Baton Baton Mein 1979 and Man Pasand etc , and 3 Lifetime Achievement Awards at UPTRON India 1995 , Norway 2015 and CMO Council Masterbrand 2011 .

As 3 – term President All – India Film Producers Council and Film and Television Producers Guild of India Ltd ( the only permanent Member Council of Management of the Guild after V Shantaram and ), besides being Founder – Trustee Bombay / Mumbai Museum of the Moving Image , the subcontinent’s premier body on Cinema , he has helped establish Cinema and India Film Production as a world – acknowledged Industry .

Pioneering India’s first integrated media entertainment as MD/Group Editor conglomerate PLUS Channel 1989 – 2000 he produced 10 feature – films and over 3000 hours of original TV programing besides 1000 music albums .

Amit was instrumental in launching India’s first film company in Hollywood USA and in the 50pc acquisition of the legendary ’s DreamWorks Studio for Reliance .
