We suggest that they are related Post-collision to the Upper Oligocene back-arc rifted margin and Early Miocene oceanic crust formation of the nearby Jijel basin, Kabylia an extension of the Algerian basin developed during the African (Tethyan) slab rollback. The fact that the Maghreb Bougaroun pluton intrudes exhumed Kabylian lower crustal units, mantle slices and flysch nappes indicates that the Kabylian margin was already stretched and in a post-collisional setting at 17 Ma. We propose a tectono-magmatic model involving an Early Miocene Tethyan slab breakoff combined with delamination of the edges of the African and Kabylian continental lithospheres. At 17 Ma, the asthenospheric thermal flux upwell- ing through the slab tear induced the thermal erosion of the Kabylian lithospheric mantle metasomatized during the previous subduction event and triggered its partial melting. We attribute the strong trace element and isoto- pic crustal signature of Bougaroun felsic rocks to extensive interactions between ascending maficmeltsandthe African crust underthrust beneath the Kabylie de Collo basement. © 2016 Elsevier B.V. Box 73, 36000 El-Tarf, Algeria [email protected] Abstract : Air pollution especially of lead has steadily evolved over time, due to the increase in the number of vehicles on the market. Our research is based primarily on the use of a species phanérogamique "Cupressus sempervirens" as bioindicator of air pollution on the three major highways serving the city of Annaba. An appropriate sampling strategy, a spatio-temporal monitoring and measurement of physiological parameters by the combined determination of lead allowed us to assess not only the state of air quality but also the impact of this pollution generated by heavy traffic in this region. Statistical analysis of results brings up correlations ranging from significant to very highly significant between the measured parameters and lead levels in the bio indicator by site and months of experimentation.. Dès lors une réflexion autour des déterminants fondamentaux de leur fabrication justifie cet article qui se veut une contribution à l’explication des « modes de faire la ville » à partir de stratégies d’acteurs dans l’élaboration et la mise en œuvre des outils d’urbanisme et d’aménagement prévus par les textes. Les auteurs optent à l’effet pour une démarche interrogative qui s’articule autour de deux questions jugées essentielles pour la compréhension des pratiques urbanistique et surtout de l’usage des droits de construire en Algérie. La première concerne le contexte fonctionnel des villes et les différentes échelles de commandement de leurs territoires et la seconde se rapporte aux différents modes d’interventions des acteurs clés qui influencent et dominent les processus de leur fabrication. Ainsi, les enjeux liés aux pratiques de l’urbanisme dans la ville d’Annaba sont donc analysés, en soulignant les rôles joués par les acteurs les plus influents dans le système de décision. Email: [email protected] Abstract Surveys were undertaken of 100 major wetlands across ten distinct regions of Algeria in 2002–2008, to determine the numbers of wetland birds using these sites, to provide new data on wetlands of international importance, and thus to indicate priorities for conservation action. Ninety-nine wetland birds were recorded and 41 sites met one or more of the criteria required for an Important Bird Area (IBA). This brough the total number of sites qualifying as IBAs in Algeria to 53 of which 21 are not currently listed as part of the IBA network. Fourteen of Algeria’s current IBAs qualify as Ramsar sites, and all 21 of the potential IBAs also qualify for designation as wetlands of international importance under the Ramsar Convention. The sites visited during the surveys were spread across the Tell, the Hauts Plateaux and the Sahara and most held over 1% of a threatened waterbird species. Many of the sites included in the surveys were found to be more important for breeding and migratory waterbirds than had previously been recognised, and their locations along three north–south corridors make them particularly vital as staging areas before or after crossing the Sahara desert. We focused on sites used by wetland birds for breeding and found that Lake Fetzara was particularly important, hosting 23 of the 36 species known to breed in northeast Algeria.
