Intel® Viiv™ (sounds like “five”) technology is Intel’s brand for a suite of hardware and that is an essential ingredient for consumer PCs and establishes a baseline in performance and features for home entertainment. The technology is enabling a new breed of exciting home PCs that is transforming how consumers manage, share and enjoy a broad and growing assortment of digital movies, music, and other entertainment-related content in and around the home.

Each Intel Viiv technology-based PC brings consumers such capabilities as surround sound audio, stunning playback of high definition , instant on and off (after initial boot ), and the power to handle simultaneous usages with an Intel dual core processor. Consumers can also enjoy all of their digital entertainment from the comfort of the sofa while several feet away from the actual PC, using the * XP Media Center Edition and a remote control.

In order to provide consumers with a growing library of premium on-demand, -delivered entertainment services, Intel is working with a wide variety of entertainment companies worldwide to verify millions of hours of movies, TV shows, music, games and more with Intel Viiv technology to ensure a seamless digital entertainment experience. As part of this effort, Intel is also working to make certain that all verified content and services carry an identifier that reads, “Enjoy with Intel Viiv technology.”
