Publicado por: Juventud Rebelde El líder de la armada ajedrecística cubana, Leinier Domínguez (2760), consiguió la primera victoria de su carrera sobre Shakriyar Mamedyarov (2743), pero Azerbaiyán impuso su categoría en los tableros 2 y 4 y aseguró su permanencia en la cima de la Olimpiada que se juega en Tromso, Noruega, informa Cubadebate. El triunfo del güinero se produjo en apenas 31 movimientos de una Defensa Siciliana, variante Najdorf. Según el motor de análisis Houdini, Mamedyarov erró vulgarmente con 25…Re7, y a partir de ese momento la presión del cubano se hizo exasperante. Un sacrificio de caballo (29. Cc6+) conduciría finalmente al derrumbe de toda esperanza para Shak, que en el mejor de los casos quedaba entonces en franca desventaja material. Vacilante contra jugadores inferiores en las jornadas previas, Leinier sacó a relucir su categoría justo cuando más riguroso se tornó el compromiso. Tan temprano y demoledor triunfo hizo pensar en la posibilidad de doblegar (cuando menos igualar en el match) a Azerbaiyán, una de las cuartetas más temidas en cualquier campeonato por equipos. Sin embargo, el tranquilo empate de Yuniesky Quesada (2649) frente a Rauf Mamedov (2659) en una Siciliana Rossolimo, fue sucedido por el humillante revés de Isán Ortiz (2603) en la última mesa. Isán, que venía de cumplir varias jornadas felices, enfrentó con trebejos oscuros a Gadir Guseinov (2613), planteó una nueva Siciliana y acabó cayendo estrepitosamente por la vía del mate (sí, el doloroso mate) en 40 movidas, víctima de los esfuerzos combinados de un alfil intratable y una torre activa. Así las cosas, el dual meet estaba momentáneamente igualado, y habría que esperar por el resultado del cotejo entre Teimour Radjabov (2724) y Lázaro Bruzón (2664)… Pasados 30 movimientos, la Catalana que disputaban parecía que iba camino de la división del punto, con cuatro peones y torre por bando sin grandes amenazas a la vista. Pero Bruzón no anduvo fino en la instancia conclusiva y Radja sacó un infante de ventaja, con el cual empezó a sembrar el pánico por la columna “a”. Al rato, desgastado y dolido, el tunero rindió. En cuanto a las muchachas, superaron por la mínima diferencia a la escuadra de Israel, apoyadas en otra victoria de la debutante Yanira Vigoa (2317), esta vez a costa de la MI sin distinción de sexo Angela Borsuk (2198). La criolla se impuso de manera contundente en 30 lances de una Defensa India de Rey. El resto de las pulseadas finalizaron en tablas. Lisandra Ordaz (2345) llevó piezas blancas y pactó la paz en 35 de una Defensa Moderna contra la MI Masha Klinova (2312); Sulennis Piña (2270) la imitó en 49 de una Siciliana Rossolimo ante la MIF Olga Vasiliev (2276); y Yaniet Marrero (2324) tuvo que trabajar horas extras para alcanzar la paridad con la MIF Yuliya Shvayger (2275) en una dilatada Apertura Escocesa. La séptima ronda presenció varias sorpresas, entre ellas las derrotas de los titulares universales vigentes. Como lo lee: el noruego Magnus Carlsen cedió con blancas ante el alemán Arkadij Naiditsch, y la china Yifan Hou hizo una partida de principiante frente a la rusa Kateryna Lagno y dejó prácticamente decidida la pugna femenil, pues las europeas se alzaron con la victoria 3-1 y ahora marchan viento en popa en el empeño de retener la corona.     DUBAI Emirate of UAE with more than thirty years of chess organizational experience. Many regional, continental and worldwide tournaments have been organized since the year 1985: The World Junior Chess Championship in Sharjah, UAE won by Max Dlugy in 1985, then the 1986 Chess Olympiad in Dubai won by USSR, the Asian Team Chess Championship won by the Philippines. Dubai hosted also the Asian Cities Championships in 1990, 1992 and 1996, the FIDE Grand Prix (Rapid, knock out) in 2002, the Arab Individual Championship in 1984, 1992 and 2004, and the World Blitz & Rapid Chess Championship 2014. Dubai Chess & Culture Club is established in 1979, as a member of the UAE Chess Federation and was proclaimed on 3/7/1981 by the Higher Council for Sports & Youth. It was first located in its previous premises in Deira–Dubai as a temporarily location for the new building to be over. Since its launching, the Dubai Chess & Culture Club has played a leading role in the chess activity in UAE, achieving for the country many successes on the international, continental and Arab levels. The Club has also played an imminent role through its administrative members who contributed in promoting chess and leading the chess activity along with their chess colleagues throughout UAE. “Sheikh Rashid Bin Hamdan Al Maktoum Cup” The Dubai Open championship, the SHEIKH RASHID BIN HAMDAN BIN RASHID AL MAKTOUM CUP, the strongest tournament in Arabic countries for many years, has been organized annually as an Open Festival since 1999, it attracts every year over 200 participants.
