SHORT BIOGRAPHY
Robert was scouted during a 25km-race organised by William Kiplagat (2.06.50 for Marathon) and Bernard Barmasai (former worldrecordholder steeple chase and 3rd in Edmonton 2001) in December 2001.
Robert impressed by finishing 3rd on a kind of tennisshoe. Especially his fighting-spirit showed the potential he must have. Because of the heavy shoes he was not able to follow up-hill.
In his first trip he finished 6th in the Half Marathon Vitry sur Seine (near Paris). In August 2002 he won his first big race in Lille where he won the ½ Marathon in 61.42 beating William Kiplagat (3rd in 61.56).
In Amsterdam he came as a pacemaker but finished after pacing for 32km.
Cheboror is an athlete who focuses on marathons. He will not run many other races. He finsished 2004 as the third fastest of the year with 2:06:23 and having won Amsterdam Marathon and becoming second in the Boston Marathon.
