Camp Lakers Jr. NBA Skills Challenge presented by HOLA and The Los Angeles Lakers - Official Rules No Purchase Necessary To Enter or Win. Void Where Prohibited By Law. PROMOTION OVERVIEW AND DATES: The Los Angeles Lakers, Inc. (“Lakers”) and HOLA are presenting the Camp Lakers Jr. NBA Skills Challenge, which is part of the Jr. NBA Skills Challenge being presented by the NBA and Verizon (the “Program”) consisting of three (3) Phases: 1) Local Competitions which will take place between, March 14, 2016 – May 1, 2016; 2) Regional Competitions which will take place between May 14, 2016 – June 5, 2016; and 3) National Finals which will take place between June 22, 2016 – June 24, 2016. Lakers, Inc. (“Lakers”) and HOLA are presenting the Camp Lakers Jr. NBA Skills Challenge as Phase 1 of the Program on April 9, 2016 at Lafayette Park located at 625 South Lafayette Park Place, Los Angeles, CA 90057 (the “Venue”) commencing at 12:00 p.m. (noon) Pacific Daylight Time (PDT). ELIGIBILITY: The Camp Lakers Jr. NBA Skills Competition is open to legal residents of Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura Counties who are between the ages of 9 and 14 as of March 14, 2016. All entrants (“Contestants”) must have the written permission of their parent or legal guardian to enter. Employees, officers, directors, representatives and agents of NBA Properties, Inc. (“Sponsor”), NBA Media Ventures, LLC, the National Basketball Association (“NBA”) and its member teams, including, but not limited to, Lakers, Verizon Wireless, and each of their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, governors, owners, distributors, retailers, agents, assignees, and advertising/promotion agencies (collectively, “Released Parties”) and the immediate family members (parents, spouses, siblings, children and their respective spouses, regardless of where they reside) and/or those living in the same household of any such individual, whether or not related, are not eligible to enter or win. The Camp Lakers Jr. NBA Skills Challenge and the Program are subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, and is void where prohibited by law. IMPORTANT NOTE: By entering the Camp Lakers Jr. NBA Skills Challenge, each Contestant (or his/her parent or legal guardian) represents that he/she is in good physical condition, that he/she has the physical capacity to participate in the Camp Lakers Jr. NBA Skills Challenge and understands and accepts all risks associated with participation in the Camp Lakers Jr. NBA Skills Challenge. Each Contestant (or his/her parent or legal guardian) also expressly acknowledges his/her understanding that participation in the Camp Lakers Jr. NBA Skills Challenge can be dangerous and can involve the risk of serious physical injury or death. Each Contestant (or his/her parent or legal guardian) represents that the Contestant is participating in the Camp Lakers Jr. NBA Skills Challenge voluntarily, with full knowledge of the potential risks entailed and he/she (or his/her parent or legal guardian) expressly, knowingly and voluntarily assumes the risk of any and all physical injury, illness or death associated with or caused by Contestant’s participating in the Camp Lakers Jr. NBA Skills Challenge. PARTICIPATION: To participate in the Camp Lakers Jr. NBA Skills Challenge, eligible Contestants must appear at the Venue at the stated time for the Camp Lakers Jr. NBA Skills Challenge and register to participate. In order to be eligible to participate, each Contestant and his/her parent or legal guardian will be required to complete an eligibility and registration form and complete and sign a release and waiver agreement. Boys and Girls will compete separately in six (6) different age and Gender groups: Group 1: Boys Ages 9-10, Group 2: Girls Ages 9-10, Group 3: Boys 11-12, Group 4: Girls 11-12, Group 5: Boys 13-14, and Group 6: Girls 13-14. 1 Each Contestant will participate in the Camp Lakers Jr. NBA Skills Challenge in the manner and according to these Official Rules and the procedures and conditions specified by Lakers in its sole discretion. All details regarding the mechanics and other rules, procedures and conditions for participation in the Camp Lakers Jr. NBA Skills Challenge will be determined by Lakers (in its sole discretion) and will be provided immediately prior to the start of the Camp Lakers Jr. NBA Skills Challenge. All judging for the Camp Lakers Jr. NBA Skills Challenge will be done onsite by Lakers in its sole and absolute discretion, and all decisions of Lakers will be final and binding on all Contestants. Any disputes (including but not limited to eligibility, event rules, event clock malfunctions, etc.) will be resolved by Lakers (or the supervising staff designated by Lakers), whose decisions shall be final, conclusive and binding. Only basketball(s) in the designated area that are provided by Lakers will be used for the Camp Lakers Jr. NBA Skills Challenge. Contestants will be disqualified if he/she has any of the following: 1) two (2) false starts; 2) all skills are not followed in sequential order provided; or 3) Contestant competes in more than one local event in the Program. CAMP LAKERS JR. NBA SKILL CHALLENGE DETAILS AND SCORING: At the Camp Lakers Jr. NBA Skills Challenge, each age and gender group outlined above will participate in the Camp Lakers Jr. NBA Skills Challenge as follows: Contestants, on cue, will pick up their first ball from a pedestal. Contestants proceed to dribble from the baseline to: 1) ZIG-ZAG DRIBBLE – Using the ball in-hand zig-zag dribble through the cones as instructed by the designated onsite official; 2) SPEED DRIBBLE – Using the ball in-hand the Contestant will dribble from the designated spot to the designated cone as instructed by the designated onsite official; 3) SHOOT, REBOUND, AND SCORE – Using the ball in-hand the Contestant must attempt to make as many shots as possible in 45 seconds from the shooting spots designated by the designated onsite official. The contestant must rebound all of his/her own balls; 4) FREE THROW – Using the ball in-hand the Contestant must attempt to make one (1) free throw shot. The goal of the Camp Lakers Jr. NBA Skills Challenge is to get the highest total score in your respective age and gender group in accordance with the Scoring section below. For the Camp Lakers Jr. NBA Skills Challenge, six (6) Skills Challenge Contestants (one (1) from each age and gender group) with the highest score will be named the First Place Finisher and move on to the Jr. NBA Regional Competition where they will repeat the above challenge as outlined in the Official Jr. NBA Skills Challenge Rules that can be found by visiting www.JrNBA.com/Skills. The six (6) Skills Challenge Contestants (one (1) from each age and gender group) with the second highest score in the Camp Lakers Jr. NBA Skills Challenge will be named a 2nd Place Finisher and the six (6) Skills Challenge contestants (one (1) from each age and gender group) with the third highest score in the Camp Jr. Lakers Skills Challenge will be named a 3rd Place Finisher. Both the 2nd and 3rd place Finishers in the Camp Lakers Jr. NBA Skills Challenge will receive Certificates. In addition, the six (6) First Place Finishers in the Camp Lakers Jr. NBA Skills Challenge will also receive a “scholarship” (free tuition) for Session Two of the 2016 Camp Lakers, a youth basketball camp for boys and girls ages 9-18. First Place Finishers are responsible for their own transportation to and from Camp Lakers. No substitute prize will be awarded to such First Place Finishers. As a participant in the 2016 Camp Lakers, campers will learn the “Lakers way” by honing their basketball skills and discovering the importance of hard work, teamwork, dedication, and sportsmanship on and off the court. Each day special Lakers coaches and staff will visit to meet and speak with the campers. On Friday July 8, 2016, campers will take a field trip to the Lakers’ practice facility to see where the Lakers work on their basketball skills! At the practice facility the campers will have the once-and-a-lifetime opportunity to play on the court where the Lakers play, step inside the Lakers practice locker room, see the championship trophies and shoot around with one of the Lakers! The Session Two of the 2016 Camp Lakers will be held from July 4, 2016 through July 8, 2016 at Next Level Sports Complex located in Garden Grove, California. 2 Proceeds from Camp Lakers benefit the Lakers Youth Foundation which works to help underserved youth develop their potential by providing positive experiences and resources in education, health and wellness, and sports. TIEBREAKERS In the event of a tie for 1st Place, the following guidelines will be used to determine the 1st Place Finisher in any age or gender category in the Camp Lakers Jr. NBA Skills Challenge: All Contestants involved in the tie will have their score sheets compared. The 1st Place Finisher will be determined by: 1. Bonus free throw shot made; and then if still tied, 2. Highest number of 6 point shots made; and then if still tied, 3. Highest number of 4 point shots made; and then if still tied, 4. Highest number of 3 point shots made; and then if still tied, 5. Highest number of 1 point shots; and then if still tied, 6. Lowest number of violations. CAMP LAKERS JR. NBA SKILL CHALLENGE PROCEDURES: • Each Contestant competes one at a time against the stopwatch.
