1 WELCOME ADDRESS

“My heart praises The Lord My soul is glad because of God my Saviour, For he has remembered me his lowly servant! From now on all people will call me happy, Because of the great things the mighty God has done for me”. Luke 1:46-49

Garlands of scholastic achievements are being landed in the land of Mary, Fatima College, Mary Land. Mankind's greatest service to humanity is education. The great poet Bharathi says it is better to educate a poor than building feeding centres and temples. We, the Fatimites feel elated to echo with resounding happiness that we empower millions of womenfolk of this universe for not only India but every nook and corner of this world is served by the women who emerged from the portals of Mary Land. Our dear Mother gave her only begotten son to be the teacher of humanity and we follow on her footsteps. Little nuggets about the college would be befitting for a welcome address. After celebrating the diamond jubilee the fortress walls of Fatima becomes stronger and sturdier by the unceasing efforts of the sisters of Lyons, whose effort is a milestone in the history of women in Madurai. A city whose name is synonymous with Tamil has another feather in her cap in the guise of this college. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to remember the great soul who was instrumental in setting up this college? Yes, Our dear Mother Rose with her untiring efforts and the heart of the Lioness had made it a reality. Years roll by but the image is still glowing strong and growing in stature.
