This year there will be no wild card teams advancing from district to region and region to state. Students will not be allowed to compete from home, and there will be a proctor present in each contest. Tests will not be uploaded and disseminated to students for the competition, they will still be a physical test. There are some temporary rule modifications of note this year. Computer Science teams are allowed to use more than one computer during the programming portion of the contest. The speech events will be administered through a virtual platform. The meet begins on Friday at 4:00 p.m. and concludes Saturday at approximately 7:00 p.m. A specific schedule of events and other information is in this packet. Each regional host will be following this schedule and working with the other regional host to make sure the starting and ending times are followed to the best of their abilities. Once a contest is over, the student’s contest sheet will be scanned and uploaded to google drive that all the contest directors/proctors have access to as well as chosen graders for that contest. The contest will be graded and scored. Once the scoring is set, there will be a verification room set up at each host school so that scores can be verified. If you would like to be part of the grading, please let your regional host director know so that we can set you up as grader. We are very pleased to be helping host this year’s meet and feel confident that your participants will have the opportunity to perform at a high level during the competition. This booklet should give you information pertinent to your school and any contest specifics or logistical information that you may need. Medals will be mailed after the competition is complete. As an important reminder, all contestants and their sponsors must be checked in at the registration desk of their host school prior to the contest. We look forward to seeing you in April.
