The win in 1:47.09 was the fourth in seven starts for Gimme Da Lute and the $210,000 payday increased his bankroll to $457,560. He paid $8.60 and $4.20.The place price on Prospect Park, the 7-2 third choice, was $4.20. There was no show wagering. Although Gimme Da Lute had started his career win- Gimme Da Lute holds off Prospect Park ning two of three races at 5 ½ and 6 ½ furlongs, Baffert said he realized after the Affirmed - which is run at 1 1/16 miles - the colt had wanted more distance all along. "After he won last time, I could tell he was craving more distance,'' said Baffert.
