Now you can experience it for yourself in Universal Studios Orlando, Florida. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is located in the Islands of Adventure theme park in Universal Studios. When you go through the gates, you pass the towers and castles of Hogwarts and see the passageways, classrooms, and corridors. Along with seeing the Hogwarts school, you can also visit the shops in Hogsmeade and also dine at The Three Broomsticks restaurant. Not only do you get to visit the shops and restaurants but there are also a number of rides you get to experience with Harry Potter. This theme park was created to give the illusion that you are actually in Hogwarts and it brings the magic in the books and movies to real life. Mendez 2 Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey is one of the most popular rides in Harry Potter World and won 1st place for best new attraction in 2010. This magical 3-D ride, lets you fly through the classrooms and corridors of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. You will also soar through Dumbledore's office, the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom, the Gryffindor common room, and The Room of Requirement. After flying through the school and iconic rooms, you fly over the castle and meet up with Harry Potter, Hermione, Ron, and Draco as well as many of the magical creatures that are in Hogwarts. This attraction really gives people the feeling that they are actually flying around Hogwarts with Harry and all of the characters from the books and movies. Another popular ride is called the Dragon Challenge. This ride actually consists of two roller coasters that are racing against each other to see who gets to the end first. One of the dragons is an aggressive Chinese fireball and the other is a ferocious Hungarian Horntail. Each dragon has a completely different route and different color but both have the same end point. The Dragon Challenge is more popular to teens and young adults only because of its high speeds, turns, twists, loops, and thrill. In Harry Potter World it isn't just roller coasters and 3-D rides but there are also many shops to visit while you're there that really makes everything come to real life. Mendez 3 While walking through the shops of Hogsmeade, one that is popular is the Honeydukes sweet shop. It is legendary for its sweets and candies like acid pops, exploding bonbons, cauldron cakes, treacle fudge, fizzing whizzbees, Bertie bott’s every-flavour beans, and the chocolate frogs that come with a wizard trading card in each box. This shop obviously would attract many kids to satisfy their sweet tooth but its also very popular to everyone else. If you want to really feel like a wizard, the best place to go is Olivanders Makers of Fine Wands. It’s a small dusty shop that has a variety of different kinds of Olivanders wands. Not only can you buy any type of color, or styled wand that you want but you here you can also buy replicas of the Harry Potter film characters wands as well as collectible wands. You can also buy an Interactive Wand to cast spells and create magical experiences throughout Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade. This shop attracts almost every age especially the real Harry Potter Fanatics. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is the only place you can have authentic drinks from the Harry Potter stories. You can buy a variety of drinks such as a Pumpkin Spice or the famous Butter Beer which is one of the most popular beverages in Harry Potter World. This Mendez 4 deliciousness in a cup consists of root beer, vanilla bean ice-cream, and a little whipped cream on the top. This drink attracts the whole crowd of people that go to Universal Studios and its one of the key parts to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. There are a few different ticket packages that you can purchase to get into the parks. The park to park ticket allows you to go back and forth from the Islands of Adventure Theme Park and Universal Studios. You can also Park to Park ticket one day: $155 purchase the base ticket that only allows you to either stay in two day: $219 three day: $229 the Islands of adventure or Universal Studios. After four day: $239 Purchasing your ticket, you get access to any ride in the park One Park base ticket one day: $105 that you bought your ticket for. Universal Studios in Florida is two day: $169 three day: $179 already one of the most touristy places because it brings so four day: $189 many movies, books, and tv shows that real life 3-D experience. The Harry Potter World is a great addition to the Universal Studios theme park and is suitable for all ages. It doesn't matter if you're someone who read every book and watched every movie multiple times or never even heard of Harry Potter, it is still a fun place to visit with family and friends.     Immersion, authenticity and the theme park as social space: Experiencing the Wizarding World of Harry Potter Abby Waysdorf and Dr. Stijn Reijnders Abstract: This article examines the visitor experience of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter (WWOHP) theme park at Universal Studios Orlando. The park is hugely popular and has been embraced by the series’ devoted but critical fanbase. Prior research on theme parks has generally focused on critiques of their form, leading to a limited understanding of their appeal. This article asks how fan-visitors interpret this simulated environment, and what leads them to embrace it. It does this with an ethnographic approach, utilizing in-depth interviews with 15 visitors combined with participant observation. We show how WWOHP is understood by its visitors as an adaptation of the series into physical space, via the medium of the theme park, and how the visitor’s experience is shaped through use of ironic imagination. In doing so, we present a new understanding of the immersive media experience of theme parks.
