Preparations began 150 finishers 129 finishers in August 2010 when most of the team spent a week in Poland getting used to the terrain, maps, planning styles, culture, Long Final Results standard of accommodation and food. This camp proved an invaluable preparation tool for the 2011 team, one which has Men Women unfortunately had to be cut from the JWOC 2012 programme. -

This document contains the quota for each member federation for each EOC competition. Competitors representing member Federations of the IOF, defined by the International Olympic Committee as belonging to the European continent, can compete in EOC. Competitors representing other member Federations of the IOF can participate in EOC but will not be eligible for European titles, medals or diplomas. WorldofO.com - Press relase December 22nd 2015: The Orienteering Achievement of 2015 Ojanaho and Alm: Orienteering Achievement of 2015 Maja Alm and Olli Ojanaho have been awarded with “The Orienteering Achievement of 2015″ titles in the women’s and men’s class, respectively! Alm won the award with a big margin ahead of her team mate in the Danish National Team Ida Bobach. Among the men, Finnish junior Ojanaho was awarded the “The Orienteering Achievement of 2015″ with Swiss Daniel Hubmann in second. The vote has been decided by the big international Last year’s winner in the readership of WorldofO.com – more than 4000 unique men’s class was 96 year votes from around 60 different countries have been delivered – making these results very representative for the old Rune Haraldsson, this worldwide orienteering community. In the Womens’s class Maja Alm won with an impressive 39.7% of the votes ahead of Ida Bobach with 27.4%, Annika Billstam with 7.9% and Galina Vinogradova with 7.8%. -

Press Release: Orienteering Achievement of 2015 16 athletes from 9 countries are nominated for the annual poll to find the most impressive achievements in international orienteering. The poll is organized by World of O – the major internet presence for international orienteering news. Voting is open until December 21st. Winning a Gold medal at the World Championships is always a great achievement – but sometimes winning a Bronze medal can be an even bigger achievement – based on what your starting point was. The stories behind the medals and the great achievements is what makes the sport truly fascinating! In “The Orienteering Achievement of the Year” these stories are highlighted – to make it possible to get a background for the amazing achievements.
