The awards were to enable Federations Welcome to the last edition of Focus for 2008. It has been a packed year with lots to honour those who have contributed of exciting events and new initiatives taking place. This year has mainly focused on in a special way to the development of developing our Whole Sport Plan (Page 24) and putting in place strategies to achieve orienteering. Rauland, Norway Candidate for Junior World Orienteering Championships 2015 Mountain area 700-1200 m altitude Challenging terrains, top quality competitions Attractive spectators events All events within 10 km of JWOC centre at Rauland High quality, social and inexpensive accommodation Will JWOC finally come to Norway? Terrains 1. Birch mountain forest with open and semi-open marches. Varying hilliness and difficulty, excellent runnability. 2. Spruce and pine mountain forest. Varying hilliness, difficulty and 1 1 runnability. 3. Continental Nordic area with sand & gravel in the ground. Flat with some steep slops due to river erosion. 4. Rauland is a centre for Norwegian and local culture with higher education on folk arts, and this will be visible for competitors and spectators. -
