Soren Bobach of Den- Sprint Final - laDieS mark and Judith Wyder of Switzerland took gold medals in today’s World 1 Wyder Judith SUI 15:32.0 Championships Sprint in Italy. They respectively beat overall World Cup leader Tove Alexandersson and Sprint superstar Daniel Hubmann, while 2 Alexandersson Tove SWE 15:43.9 Maja Alm and Tue Lassen (DEN) seized bronze. 3 Moeller Alm Maja DEN 15:45.7 4 Volynska Nadiya UKR 15:46.9 After closing in second position the qualifying round, Wyder looked like 5 Eliasson Lena SWE 15:59.1 a sure winner already from the start of the final race. The Swiss finished 6 Friederich Rahel SUI 16:06.9 11.9 seconds ahead of Alexandersson, whilst Alm left back Volynska (UKR) and Eliasson (SWE). In the men’s class, Bobach came in tenth in 7 Vinogradova Galina RUS 16:11.5 the qualification heat, but his final race was simply flawless. -

The awards were to enable Federations Welcome to the last edition of Focus for 2008. It has been a packed year with lots to honour those who have contributed of exciting events and new initiatives taking place. This year has mainly focused on in a special way to the development of developing our Whole Sport Plan (Page 24) and putting in place strategies to achieve orienteering. With the assistance of SILVA our vision of “More Places, More People, More Podiums”. (UK) Ltd this was interpreted within the UK We have made a fantastic start to achieving these aims with more urban O events as being a person or persons who have taking place this year (see the London City Race article), a growing membership (see made a very significant contribution to the Buxton Satellite Club article) and orienteering over a period of years, with of course more podiums which we an emphasis on ‘field’ activities rather than all celebrated when Graham, Jon committee work. Indeed, nominees may and Jamie won Gold at the World not be active or retiring members of British Championships. Orienteering Council, nor part or full-time employees of the Federation. Qualification – The World Games 2017 Orienteering The IOF has 40 female and 40 male places at The World Games 2017 in Wroclaw, Poland.
