Beatport Announces 2019 Beats in School Winners

Attachment # 1: R&C-2018-14 2018 Arts & Culture Wall of Fame Inductees Background Information REZZ Though young at 22 years of age, REZZ is anything but an amateur as a producer of genre-bending works, striking a sharp balance between bass heavy and minimal tech composition. With a strong vision and no two ways about it, REZZ’s decisiveness is arguably the key to her success so far. She began to build a following on Soundcloud with a series of free releases which in a short time inevitably caught the ears of EDM golden boys Skrillex and Deadmau5, who helped bring her out to the masses with near back-to-back releases of a three-track ‘Insurrection EP’ on OWSLA’s The Nest imprint in 2015, followed by the ‘Serenity EP’ via Mau5trap in 2016. After the release of the ‘Something Wrong Here EP’ in October 2016 on Mau5trap, her ever-evolving and idiosyncratic electro sound has continued to grow stronger. With her first full-length album “Mass Manipulation” out since August 2017, she has wowed at festivals internationally including six dates in Asia with Ultra Music Festival, Bonnaroo and Electric Zoo. She is currently supporting “Mass Manipulation” with a 27-date international tour that continues to see sold-out dates across North America. New York, June 2011. www.ems-network.org A New Analytical Method For The Musical Study of Electronica Christopher Anderson, Arne Eigenfeldt Simon Fraser University, Vancouver, BC (Canada) [email protected], [email protected] Abstract In the late 20th and early 21st Centuries, the analysis of popular forms of electroacoustic music, such as electronic dance music (EDM), has widely been overlooked within electroacoustic music discourse. To further develop the growing field of electroacoustic music studies, new analytical methods are needed to help gain a better understanding of the theory and contexts of many newer forms of compositional areas, such as EDM. From the baroque gavotte to ballet, dance music has been historically analyzed for many years and since many other popular forms of traditional dance music – such as jazz or swing – have been the subject of complex rhythmic and timbral analysis. The study of EDM offers many new possible analytical approaches to the understanding of new sophisticated interactions between timbre and rhythm in popular forms of electroacoustic music. The Generative Electronica Research Project (GERP), a collaborative research group within Simon Fraser University's (SFU) Metacreation Agent and Multi-Agent Systems (MAMAS) lab, have been working on a new method to analyze electronica that involves a combined human and machine-learning approach. In this paper, we propose to explore the similarities and differences between human and machine-based electronica analysis. For the purposes of our research, we have chosen to analyze four popular sub-genres of EDM: Breakbeat, Drum and Bass, House and Dubstep. -

Teoretická část je zaměřena na problematiku hudby, historie hudebního prů- myslu a lehce se dotkne statusu celebrity. V praktické části autor provede rešerši marketin- gových aktivit, přičemž bude vycházet z teorie marketingu. Následný výzkum na youtube by měl alespoň z části objasnit oblíbenost či neoblíbenost jednotlivých marketingových aktivit; bude zaměřený na spojení Deadmau5e s jinými značkami. Hlavním cílem bakalář- ské práce prozkoumat, jak Deadmau5 dosáhl svého úspěchu.
