August 2015 Master Mindz From Principal’s Green school Desk: Pg-2 Drive: Pg-3 Campus Events:Pg-7 Upbeat:Pg-7 Shining Stars:Pg-23 Sports:Pg-30 Workshops:Pg-31 MasterMindz #August From Principal’s Desk: 'If success is the monument of achievement then a healthy body is its foundation.' -Anonymous Educational achievements can be linked to healthy behaviour, a healthy body and a healthy living environment. Habits which are learnt at a young age are imbibed easily and become a part of one's personality.Good hygiene promotes self-confidence, enhances a positive self- esteem, promotes self-awareness and a positive mental outlook. It is true that 'health is wealth'. But it is a matter of regret that most of us do not realize it. Awareness of cleanliness and personal Hygiene is the need of the hour in our country. Though health is now recognized as a fundamental right of every human being, it is essentially an individual responsibility. It is the individual who has to accept certain responsibilities in order to maintain health like taking responsibility for a good diet, personal hygiene, cultivation of healthy habits and taking disease prevention measures. There is a dire need to educate and sensitize people to the importance of cleanliness. Educational institutions can play a vital role in this matter as students are the future citizens of the nation. A small step from each Indian citizen is a giant leap towards fulfilling the purpose of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Clean India’ campaign. At this point, I would also suggest students to take up at least one hobby and sport along with their academics.

The radiation effects are classified as: • Non-thermal • Thermal Current exposure safety standards are mainly based on the thermal effects, which are inadequate. Non-thermal effects are several times more harmful than thermal effects. Cell Phone - Ear Warming? Have you ever noticed warm sensation in ear after using mobile phone for a long time? Temp. of ear lobes increases by 10C when cell phone is used for approx. 20 minutes. Warm sensation -> pain -> irreversible hearing loss All these effects lead to Ear Tumor SAR and Cell Phone Use Time Limit A cell phone transmits 1 to 2 watts of power SAR (Specific absorption rate) - Rate at which radiation is absorbed by human body, measured in watts per kg (W/kg).

  • Dear Lav Gupta, I Had Sent You an Email a Few Days Back to Send Me
Dear Lav Gupta, I had sent you an email a few days back to send me the TRAI Consultation Paper on Telecom Infrastructure Policy, Jan. 2011. Till today, I have not recd. any reply from you. We know each other since IIT Kanpur days (1978-1980), same department, same hostel, common friends, etc. and was hoping for a quick reply. May be, you are too busy. I requested Mr. Ashok Joshi and others, whom this email is copied, to send me the TRAI Consultation Paper on Issues Related to Telecommunications Infrastructure Policy. Please refer to Section 4.62 - Electromagnetic radiation from cell towers, pages 81-83. It mentions about some health hazards as well as WHO report and ICNIRP guidelines. However, in Section 4.65, page 84, it is written that TRAI will gather itself the data and make suitable recommendations separately. It has not given any option for citizen's feedback. I have attached a report, which I submitted to Secretary, DOT. Please find time to go through it. India must adopt max. radiation density as 0.1 W/m^2 instead of ICNIRP guidelines of f/200, with immediate effect with a plan to reduce it to 0.01W/m^2 within 1 to 2 years. This will help the operators to plan their network in a phased manner. Also, certification of operators are within the new norms, must be done by third party. We all have to work together to protect our own Indian people from the harmful affects of excessive cell tower radiation. It is also harming birds, animals, plants, fruit bearing trees, etc.
