Double victory for at Germany’s “auto motor und sport” readers' award

More than 16,000 readers of the renowned magazine cast their votes for the “autonis” award. For the second year in a row, Alfa Romeo was appointed “Design Brand of the Year” while the new won the category “Large SUVs.”

Alfa Romeo's design resonates once again with readers of Germany’s renowned car magazine “auto motor und sport”. During the annual “autonis 2017” award, readers named Alfa Romeo “Design Brand of the Year” while the award for the “Large SUVs” category went to the latest addition to the Italian brand's portfolio, the new Alfa Romeo Stelvio.

“We are honored that readers of auto, motor und sport named once again Alfa Romeo as one of the best designs in the industry" said Klaus Busse, Head of Design FCA EMEA, during the prize giving ceremony in Stuttgart. “This is an important recognition for Alfa Romeo: being chosen two years in a row by German car enthusiasts as the leading design and seeing Stelvio - the very first SUV in Alfa Romeo's history - win its category just as the Giulia did last year is very rewarding for our design team and shows we are on the right track".

Alfa Romeo has recorded several successes at the “autonis” award throughout the years. In 2016 Alfa Romeo won the title as “Design Brand of the Year” while the then new and the Alfa Romeo MiTo scored victories in their respective classes. In 2010 the readers of “auto, motor und sport” selected the as the best-looking car in the compact class.

Exactly 16,602 readers of “auto, motor und sport” printed magazine and web-based content cast their votes in ten categories for the 17th issue of the “autonis” award. More than half of the votes (50.5 per cent) went to the Alfa Romeo Stelvio, crowning it the winner of the category “Large SUVs”. Alfa Romeo won the title “Design Brand of the Year” for the second year in a row with 27 per cent of the votes.
