We are pleased to welcome you to the 2016 GALA OF STARS musical extravaganza and benefit auction on Saturday, May 14, 2016! Last year’s Gala raised more than $560,000 in scholarship funds and made a difference in the lives of many students. More than 90% of undergraduate students receive some form of financial aid, and this assistance wouldn’t be possible without the support of our donors and corporate partners – people like you. Because of your generosity, we can provide extraordinary educational opportunities that prepare our young men and women to make a difference in the world and create a lasting impact on future generations. The live auction will begin at approximately 7:30pm on Saturday, May 14, 2016, and will continue until all items have been auctioned. 2. Payment by the successful bidder may be made by Express Pay or at the cashier station at the conclusion of the event. Payment may be made with cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover. FULL PAYMENT on Saturday, May 14, 2016 is required. 3. All sales are final and there will be no exchange or refunds. 4. Items may be retrieved after exhibiting a PAID receipt at the time of departure. 5. Values set forth are the donor’s estimates or suggested retail price and are not warranted by Friends of Concordia University for tax purposes or for general value. 6. Items must be retrieved the evening of the auction, unless other arrangements are made. 7. Unless otherwise specified, all auction items and services must be used within one year after Saturday, May 14, 2016. Silent Auction 1. Each item in the silent auction has a bid form attached to the table nearby. Persons desiring to bid may do so by putting a sticker with their bid number next to the amount they choose to bid. 2. At the bottom of some of the bid sheets, there is a section where you can guarantee the price by placing your bid sticker in the spot. Bidding on the item then stops, and you are the winning bidder. 3. Use only the bid number assigned to you. 4. An authorized person may disqualify your bid if you are blocking the bidder’s table prior to the closing of a booth. Only an authorized person may disqualify a bid. 5. The Silent Auction booths will be open for bidding at 5pm and will close beginning at 6:20pm. See the closing time for each booth at the beginning of each section. Once the auction official closes the bidding, the last bid made constitutes the winning bid. 6. In the event of a dispute, the auction official shall act as final authority and shall determine the winning bidder. The decision of the auction official will be final. 7. Any bidder not making arrangements for payment in full by the end of the evening will forfeit his/her right to purchase the item. You can tour this gorgeous Spanish Colonial Revival Estate that was built in 1927 by Ole Hanson and currently listed on the National Registry of Historic Places in Orange County. Ruth is also a member of the Concordia University Irvine Foundation Board. DINNER AND WINE PAIRING DONATION: $300 per couple FIFTEEN COUPLES will be treated to an evening of hors d’oeuvres and three-course dinner with wine pairings along with lots of learning, courtesy of Sommelier and CUI supporter, Jim Bright who will guide guests through the wines and teach about wine making and wine tasting Home of Walter and Leann Luchinger in Villa Park Date and time TBD WALL OF WINE For a donation of $50, you can take home a bottle of wine or bottle of champagne valued from $35 - $100!! Select a cork and win the bottle of wine that matches the number on your cork. Your bid sticker will be placed next to the number of the bottle you have won.
