The adverse effect of Chikkia Excessive use of Chikkika causing side-effects like inflammation of the nasal mucosa and pain in the nose. Research and biological activities Volatile oils extracted from the plant of Centipeda minima having an anti-inflammatory action. thr action of centipida minima is due to the inhibiting inflammatory cytokines in a rat model.[11] In a related study, C. minima eased allergic rhinitis by slowing the infiltration of eosinophils and the proliferation of mast cells.[12] Biological activity of the centipida minima shows that the species' exist for the extraction contains novel compounds that having an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.[13] Antimicrobial action The present study is designed for phytochemical analysis of Centida minima and extraction of the bioactive compound by HPLC, a further antimicrobial activity of the bioactive compounds has been investigated by crude extract and the column extract and antiproliferative activity on prostate epithelial cancer cell (PC3). Our study revealed the presence of the bioactive component phenolic of this plant has good antimicrobial activity and also exhibiting anti-cancer properties. Anti-protozoal action In vitro activity against Giardia lamblia was used for bioassay-guided fractionation of crude extracts from C. minima. sesquiterpene lactone was Similarly active in vitro against Entamoeba histolytica (IC50 between the tange of 4.5 and 9 μM) and also it use against plasmodium falciparum ((IC50 = 9.42 μM).
