The main one being is US. Yes, you as part of US the NSWAAT. At times the NSWAAT has been too busy in our own lives but as a collective group, we have kept the ball rolling for the betterment of Agricultural education. A lot more of my report will be released at Ballina from 11-15th Jan when I fully realise what has been achieved through a Justin Connors 'Networking' session as to be honest I need my fellow peers to help write my report. Speaking of Ballina - kudos to Mick Melino and his dedicated team of Ag teachers for the complete coordination of next year’s conference. Mick has done everything he can and I hope us as members can continue to support these conferences. My final report will be in the post conference BAAT. An update of National Association of Agricultural Educators (NAAE) is that the 2016 Conference in Perth is definitely proceeding and that we are conducting monthly teleconferences to discuss a range of factors affecting us as educators - Tasmanian agricultural education is in dire straits and the teachers that remain, we, as fellow colleagues, need to support. We may even have some Tasmanians at Ballina. Teachers are reminded to make contact with the SAM and Principal about the funds that they receive through DEC based on the survey they completed from David Randall and the State Agricultural Advisory Group (SAAG) - if in doubt contact [email protected] - possibly get David on speaker phone when you have a meeting. On Friday morning we have two excellent speakers: Mark Harrison and Angela D’Angelo. Mark Harrison has a background in Mathematics and Psychology and will speak to us about Growth Mindset, in particular how understanding student mindsets can deeply influence our effectiveness in the classroom. Angela D’Angelo, one of the recipients of a Premier’s Teaching Scholarship in 2016, will continue the conversation around Growth Mindset as well as discuss her journey over the last year.
