Welcome Friends & Customers

September is always a bittersweet time of year for us here at Zollinger Quarter Horse Ranch. It is always rewarding to watch all of our hard work from the past year bring so much joy to others when they haul away their newest additions! We focus on providing our customers and friends with the same qualities we look for in our own personal horses. Whether you’re looking for a performance or a pleasure horse, we have tried our best to provide you with what you need! All the countless, sleepless nights planning and perfecting in our heads the best match up for each mare and stallion that will result in a foal with a good mind along with good looks is always well worth it in the end!

This last year we had the opportunity to experiment with a new stud. “Kings Breeze,” an all-around reining champion. Some of his winnings include ROM Reining 2009, Region 2 Jr Reining Champion 2009, SDQHA Senior Reining Champion 2010, Region 2 Champion Sr Reining 2011, SDQHA Senior Reining Champion 2013 and Superior Reining Champion 2014. Pretty impressive stuff! This year we offer three foals by “King” and we are extremely impressed with what he brings to the table!

In addition, for next year, we are excited to welcome two new stallions and their offspring. WZ’s Last Show Stopper (or as we call him, “Huck”) and Splish Splash A Leo, both are sure to not disappoint! Along with keeping true to the tradition of old blood flowing around here, we are proud to still have seven Lad Leo daughters residing in our fields. With the highest percentage of Leo blood in our pedigrees, you are given an amazing and rare opportunity to own your very own piece of the legendary Leo yourselves!

Every colt/filly purchased this year will be eligible to come back as a yearling next year to participate the morning of the sale in a first ever Zollinger Yearling Halter Show! Show off your 2018 purchases with no entry fee and $500 added!!! For more info contact Jerry – (208) 670-3833.

We hope you all have a great time here at Zollinger Quarter Horse Ranch and it is always our pleasure to have our old friends along with our new friends come together. We thank you for your continued support every year. Happy bidding!

Leo first carved his niche in the early years of the Quarter Horse industry as a sizzling speed horse. But then he cemented his reputation by becoming one of the all time great sires. While he is recognized primarily as a leading broodmare sire, both his sons and daughters excelled on the track and in the show ring. There isn’t a discipline in the quarterhorse world that doesn’t have ties to Leo.

Lad Leo mares are still the heart of our breeding program, they produce outstanding foals every year. These colts know how to work and do their best in every aspect of the horse industry.

Lad Leo, the strength and heart of our breeding program, was the last living son of the immortal Leo, one of the greatest All -time Quarter Horse sires and grandsires. Lad Leo is out of an own granddaughter of Three Bars. It's a rare pedigree and is "pure foundation quarter horse."

Lad Leo was a real Quarter Horse with strength, disposition and power. An intelligent performance horse. He was an AA ROM race qualifier, and he sired many ROM race progeny.

As a stallion, Lad Leo breeds the stamp and character of his sire...conformation, good minds, kind disposition, color and the ability to perform. Having stood mares from Canada and across the US, his colts can do everything and daughters are outstanding producers.

2019 Sorrel Filly 1 Leo Grande Rio/ Blayne Leo

Chances of owning these great Leo bred fillies are getting slim. This filly is 25% Leo and would make a great 2019 Grey Stud Colt addition to anyone’s mare band. 2 Mr. Silver Pistol/Lads Last Girl

Great, grey stud colt by Mr Silver Pistol. Out of a Lad Leo daughter and a granddaughter of Docs Oak. He has every qualification to be a good stud prospect, not only conformationally but on his papers. 2019 Buckskin Filly 3 Dynamo DunIt/Nu Bar Poco Bueno

2019 Grey Filly 4 Mr Silver Pistol/Miss N Little Hummer

Very athletic filly by “Pistol” and out of a granddaughter of Miss N Cash. Her mom has produced colts with winnings in the team

roping. This filly should run a barrel or be an asset to a mare band.

5 2019 Bay Stud Colt Mr Poco Blackburn 004/Lilly

Big, stout and gentle colt. Will make one heck of a heel horse or a great outside horse. When he is all grown up you will be mounted!

6 2019 Bay Filly Tivios Bueno Bars/Justa Toucha Pepper

One of my favorite filly’s. She is conformationally correct, straight with a short back, beautiful head and looks good on paper. Poco Tivio x Dry Doc. 2019 Red Roan Filly 7 Double L Boon/Lads Last Squirtgun

Squirt Gun “hosed” me this year. I was hoping for a blue roan and got a red roan. No matter what, she is going to be a great asset to a mare band. Ride her or show her; you choose! 2019 Buckskin Stud Colt 8 Dynamo DunIt/Luv Z Cash

Very attractive stud colt that should “fly”. Out of a double bred Dash For Cash mare and a son of the all-time great reining horse Hollywood Dun It. Can’t wait to hear from whoever buys him. 2019 Bay Filly 9 Kings Breeze/Nifty Fifty Leo

This first time momma is double bred Leo. Baby is by Kings Breeze – 42% King. All old bloodlines in her pedigree. She will cross well to whatever you breed her to. 2019 Buckskin Roan Stud Colt 10 WZs Last Showstopper/Blackburn 140

Hucks” first crop has been just what the Dr. ordered. This colt

will be big and stout and very personable. He was born

buckskin but is turning roan. Should be a great arena horse or

even a nice family horse. 2019 Sorrel Filly 11 Mr Silver Pistol/Two Blue Casey

The decision to sell this filly was very difficult for me. I was going to keep her to show and add to our mare band. Very correct made filly, stout and athletic.

2019 Bay Stud Colt 12 Tivios Bueno Bars/Sparkin Spider

This is a cute stud colt out of a granddaughter of the great Shining Spark. He should make a great arena horse. 2019 Sorrel Filly 13 Double L Boon/ Sweet Docs Sugar

Big, strong sorrel filly with a nice solid build. The only fault I can find is that she didn’t turn roan. 2019 Grey Stud Colt 14 Double L Boon/Shimmering Dawn

This colt is a beautiful steel gray with a great hip, head and shoulder. Should be full of cow and brains. Both parents were started in the Cutting pen.

2019 Palomino Filly 15 Double L Boon/Lady Tinkerbell

Here is another filly that is hard to turn loose. She has the color and pedigree to make one heck of a broodmare.

2019 Bay Stud Colt 16 Mr Silver Pistol/Easy Ultra Violet

Not sure what color he is going to be. I’m guessing he’ll go grey. This colt should run a barrel or make a great

rope horse. His momma is 16 hands tall and is a solid 2019 Red Roan Filly barrel mare. His dad has produced some awesome rope 17 horses. Mr Silver Pistol/Peptos Royal Quick

As you can tell I like fillies. They are the back bone to

our mare band. This is another filly I wanted to keep.

2019 Sorrel Stud Colt Someone needs to show her. She is beautiful from head 18 to tail. Mr Silver Pistol/Dry Taylor Sue

Cute, little dun filly – breeding stock paint. Her mom is getting some age on her and having a tough time out in the country. This colt should have plenty of speed to run a barrel or catch a cow.

1997 Paint Mare 22 “Western Dashn Cash”

Black and white paint mare. She was a barrel and

pole horse in her younger years. She qualified for

High School finals in both events. She sells exposed to Dynamo Dun It.

2019 Bay Filly 25 Mr Poco Blackburn 004/Shesa JoDean Leo

Ol’ Jo gave us a filly that should be staying in our mare band, but we can’t keep them all. This a foundation bred filly – Poco Tivio and Leo. She will make a great addition to someone’s mare band. 2019 Buckskin Stud Colt 26 Mr Poco Blackburn 004/Leos Prettty Ms Tiveo

Team ropers, halter people or trail riders. What a beautiful, well built, buckskin stud colt. Very curious as to what you are doing out in his field. Every time I went out to take pictures he seemed to be standing in front of me. 2019 Sorrel Stud Colt 27

Double L Boon/Miss Pocos Dry Doc

“Homer” as we call him is very gentle and broke to lead. He was supposed to be a filly, to replace his mom, but that didn’t work out. Our loss is your gain!

make a great performance, all around horse. 2019 Bay Filly 35 Mr Poco Blackburn 004/Shesa Pepper Chex
