Mont-Saint-Michel / Le Vivier-sur-Mer La Vélomaritime - EuroVelo 4

There’s so much to look for and appreciate as you cycle along this section – the Couesnon River, the Mont itself, the marshes, polders, historic St. Anne’s chapel, the charming village of Cherrueix, (famous for sand yachting) then the Cherrueix windmills – and then into the famous ‘oyster port’ of Vivier sur Mer.

Itinerary

Leave Mont St. Michel via the bridge of Beauvoir where you cross the Couesnon. The route between the bridge of Beauvoir and the greenway at the St. Anne embankment is very safe. From here, follow the greenway along 11 kms of the St. Anne dyke to the commune of Cherrueix (sandy surface). From Départ Arrivée Cherrueix to Vivier sur Mer, where there is no Mont-Saint-Michel Le Vivier-sur-Mer signposting, follow the coastal road RD 797. Take care at the dangerous crossroads on the west exit of Cherrueix (poor visibility). Go in the opposite direction Durée Distance 1 h 53 min 28,56 Km if you wish to visit the centre of Cherrueix. Railway lines Niveau Thématique Beginners/Families Nature and Heritage, Dol-de-Bretagne train station Patrimoine, Beaches, TGV and TER to Saint-Malo, , Paris (via Highlight Rennes). TER to Caen, Dinan, Pontorson-Mont-Saint- Michel. In summer, TER to Granville.

Maison des Polders at Roz sur Couesnon: 17th Century building offering visitors a museographic space in which to discover the polders. Visit and explore the aerial telegraph station from Chappe to Saint-Marcan, constructed in 1799. Small coastal train to Cherrueix, for a two-hour trip around the Baie du Mont.
