070607 ASX Release Hannans Reward Ltd 8 June 2007 Opportunities in Papua New Guinea The opportunity to partner with Mal Michael and colleagues in PNG is considered significant and represents Hannans Reward’s first step towards obtaining exposure to projects outside Australia • Hannans Reward Ltd (ASX: HNR) has entered into an agreement with private PNG company JLM Resources Limited (‘JLM’); the Managing Director of JLM is PNG identity Mr Mal Michael • JLM has established relationships with traditional landowner groups in PNG whereby JLM has agreed to source foreign investment for the development of the landowners’ projects • JLM has granted Hannans a pre-emptive right to acquire all natural resource projects sourced by JLM in PNG; if Hannans exercises its pre-emptive rights it will form a 50/50 joint venture with JLM to develop each project Summary Hannans Reward Ltd (ASX: HNR) has signed an agreement to assess minerals, petroleum and agricultural projects in PNG that are sourced by private company JLM Resources Ltd (“JLM”). “The directors of JLM have established relationships with traditional landowners and government in PNG. Over time landowners have approached us to help them source foreign investment to develop their projects. With this in mind JLM has focused its activities on developing opportunities in the minerals, petroleum and agriculture sectors in PNG. One of our aims is to ensure positive outcomes for the traditional landowners, communities and governments. This can be achieved because we have a good understanding of the relationship between the people and their land. We also believe that by teaming with Hannans Reward we have increased our ability to achieve our aims,” Mal Michael, Managing Director, JLM Resources Ltd . Mal Michael is a well known PNG identity in Australia. He was a member of the Brisbane Lions AFL Premiership Teams in 2001, 2002 and 2003 and is continuing his career with the Essendon Football Club. In early 2006, he established the Mal Michael Foundation, aimed at raising money to help give young Papua New Guineans the opportunity to play Aussie rules. JLM is Mal Michael’s business focus outside of football. This exciting relationship will enable Hannans to support JLM as it continues to build on its long standing relationships with the traditional landowners and government. Level 2, 11 Ventnor Avenue, West Perth, Western Australia PO Box 1227, West Perth, WA, 6872 [email protected] • www.hannansreward.com +61 8 9324 3388 (T) • +61 8 9324 3366 (F) Hannans Reward Ltd 8 June 2007 PNG hosts significant mineral deposits but exhibits rugged natural conditions which make for challenging exploration and mining conditions; it is also characterised by a very high biodiversity and a unique mosaic of cultures. Hannans recognises the potential of PNG, its people and their natural resources and is excited to be teaming with JLM to progress opportunities that may be forthcoming. The agreement between JLM and Hannans provides Hannans with a period of 120 days to decide whether or not to match any third party offers over natural resource projects sourced by JLM, either in JLM’s capacity as Agent or Principal. If Hannans elects to proceed with the project it will form a 50/50 incorporated joint venture with JLM to develop the project. Both parties will be required to fund the acquisition and development of the project in proportion to their respective shareholdings. In consideration for this right of first refusal, Hannans will issue JLM with 250,000 fully paid ordinary shares in Hannans Reward Ltd. This agreement is subject to approval by Hannans shareholders. E-Footy RECORD 31st May 2008 Issue 9 Editorial with Marty King AFL AND AFLPA SET TO MOVE ON NEW ALCOHOL POLICY It’s terrifi c to see the AFL and the AFL Players Association working collaboratively to formulate a new policy on responsible alcohol consumption in the football environment. They are seeking feedback from each of the 16 AFL clubs, together with key national drug and alcohol experts, before framing a policy with guidelines that all AFL clubs and associated bod- ies like AFL Queensland can use to develop their own. This comes after a lot of background work was done over almost two years and the AFL Com- mission received a full briefi ng. The AFL, the Players’ Association and the AFL clubs understand that quite clearly that they have a responsibility to promote responsible drinking within the AFL and among the 16 clubs, the players and staff. But it’s not just about the elite level. The same will apply at the grassroots level and we at AFLQ will look to partner with the League on this important initiative. The guidelines within the AFL Framing Policy will provide a framework for AFL clubs and asso- ciated bodies to assist them in developing their own individual club responsible alcohol policies. The AFL Framing Policy lists a set of objectives for players and club staff, including the devel- opment of approaches for responsible consumption, effective pathways for treatment of alco- hol-related problems, creating responsible drinking cultures and using player welfare oriented and education-based approaches to promote responsible alcohol consumption.

PINEAPPLE HOTEL CUP E-FOOTY RECORD ROUND 12 E-Footy RECORD 28th June 2008 Issue 12 Editorial with Marty King AFL QUEENSLAND: STRICT ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY ON RACIAL VILIFICATION It disappoints me to have to remind people that the AFL and AFL Queensland has a strict zero tolerance policy on racial vilifi cation. There have been a couple of unsavoury incidents lately, spread across the fi rst and second divisions of the State League competition, which are simply unacceptable. Under no circumstances will this sort of behavior be tolerated because there is no place for this sort of thing in our game, and AFL Queensland will do whatever it takes to ensure that the perpetrators are suitably reprimanded. This is a cornerstone of what State League football is all about. It is a family-oriented competition which should operate in an environment of respect and responsibility. AFLQ is no different to the AFL, which prides itself on setting behavioural standards that are benchmarks for the general society. It is why the AFL implements and takes very seriously things like the Code of Conduct, and general standards that relate to racial and religious vilifi cation and responsible consumption of alcohol. It is imperative that these values are upheld right across the competition, and so I appeal to all involved with AFL Queensland to do the right thing and to speak up if you are witnesses to inappropriate behavior. The overwhelming majority of people do the right thing all the time. They come to the football with their family or friends, they enjoy the contest and the atmosphere, they barrack for their team in good-natured fun, and they conduct themselves appropriately.

9 Oct 2003 Legislative Assembly 3873 THURSDAY, 9 OCTOBER 2003 Mr SPEAKER (Hon. R. K. Hollis, Redcliffe) read prayers and took the chair at 9.30 a.m. PRIVILEGE Townsville Hospital, Emergency Department Wait Times; Mr M. Clarke Hon. W. M. EDMOND (Mount Coot-tha—ALP) (Minister for Health and Minister Assisting the Premier on Women's Policy) (9.31 a.m.): I rise on a matter of privilege. Yesterday in question time and in today's media the member for Maroochydore claimed a patient at Townsville had been diagnosed with cancer and had been forced to wait more than 30 days to be admitted for further testing and treatment. The member for Maroochydore said the patient was still waiting due to a lack of hospital beds. The following are the facts of this matter. The hospital has advised that this patient has been receiving appropriate treatment for some months. The diagnostic testing is to monitor his progress. I am advised by the hospital that these tests are normally done on an outpatient basis and there is no clinical reason for the patient to be admitted. He was seen on 16 September 2003 by Dr Ian Irving, Director of Medical Oncology, and it was agreed that he could be admitted as an inpatient to perform the diagnostic procedures. The patient advised that he was going on holidays and it was agreed that when he returned the necessary arrangements for the diagnostic procedures would be made. He returned approximately one week ago from his holidays and the hospital indicated it expected to admit him in the next few days.
