Hiranandani Fortune City, April 2017 QUARTERLY NEWSLETTER. APRIL 2017 CEO’S DESK PROJECT UPDATES PANVEL - CONNECTIVITY AND DEVELOPMENT FROM THE CEO’S DESK Dear Patrons, Whilst we are steadily progressing on all fronts in terms of development of the township, we are focusing on creating impeccable civic infrastructure for residents. It gives us great pleasure to announce the completion of two buildings - Apollo and Athena. We have begun handing over apartments to our customers. In fact, as a value-added service, we have set up a Leasing Desk, and are helping our customers lease their apartments. We have also set up a Concierge Service that helps arrange for delivery of food, and other conveniences. Other works are also going on and the photographs below indicate the external and internal work-in-progress at the township. We have also constructed the main road that leads into the township and to Apollo and Athena. The Commercial building Edinburgh is also ready for fit-outs. It is also heartening to note further development of civic infrastructure and investments being made by the government. Be it the airport, or the Multi-Modal Corridor, Panvel having it’s own railway station and so much more - connectivity, will be the key driver of Panvel. With so much action in the zone, the township is destined to become the central business district of Panvel, thereby adding great value to your investment with us. While construction is moving forward aggressively, we are simultaneously commencing the RERA registration process. This would further provide you with the project status and updates. We take this opportunity to acknowledge and appreciate the patronage and support extended to our organization and expect the same to continue! We are fully aware of your expectations from us, in terms of delivery and quality of the project and would surely endeavor to provide you with our best always, despite the extremely challenging and difficult times. Last but not the least, do visit us. It will be our pleasure to host you at the project site. Jackbastian K. HOUSING TYPOLOGIES IN MUMBAI CRIT May 2007 HOUSING TYPOLOGIES IN MUMBAI CRIT May 2007 1 Research Team Prasad Shetty Rupali Gupte Ritesh Patil Aparna Parikh Neha Sabnis Benita Menezes CRIT would like to thank the Urban Age Programme, London School of Economics for providing financial support for this project. CRIT would also like to thank Yogita Lokhande, Chitra Venkatramani and Ubaid Ansari for their contributions in this project. Front Cover: Street in Fanaswadi, Inner City Area of Mumbai 2 Study of House Types in Mumbai As any other urban area with a dense history, Mumbai has several kinds of house types developed over various stages of its history. However, unlike in the case of many other cities all over the world, each one of its residences is invariably occupied by the city dwellers of this metropolis. Nothing is wasted or abandoned as old, unfitting, or dilapidated in this colossal economy. The housing condition of today’s Mumbai can be discussed through its various kinds of housing types, which form a bulk of the city’s lived spaces This study is intended towards making a compilation of house types in (and wherever relevant; around) Mumbai. House Type here means a generic representative form that helps in conceptualising all the houses that such a form represents. It is not a specific design executed by any important architect, which would be a-typical or unique. It is a form that is generated in a specific cultural epoch/condition. This generic ‘type’ can further have several variations and could be interestingly designed /interpreted / transformed by architects.
